Who do you think is the most annoying villan of Final Fantasy history?

Not to hate on FFVII and Sephiroth followers (lol), I never understood this villain. His behaviour was irrational, and his occasional outbursts annoying. I don't know how to pinpoint it more precisely, but I just found him annoying.

Necron from FFIX and Ultimecia from FFVIII almost tie. Necron was just too cheap of an ending for one of my favorite FF games. I don't think he was needed. Kuja displayed some incredible power throughout FFIX, so thought he should have been more of a challenge at the end of the game. While I would not have wanted to see him change forms, like so many other villians, I think that he should have withstood more than 4 or 5 attacks.

Then there was Ultimecia in FFVIII. Why exactly did she want to have time compression? What was she so pissed about? For some reason, I just never understood what was driving her to destroy everything.

Emerald Weapon. honestly this may sound really bad but i never even got to him and the times i played him on my freinds save he was terrrible i dunno so hard

I would say any of the Judges from FFXII - several were introduced and dispatched in such fragmented cut scenes that you had no idea what the purpose behind some of them even was. Further, I waited for months to fight them, and when you finally do, they go down faster than Paris Hilton on a Carls Jr. Burger set in Justin Timberlake's lap.

Sephiroth and Seymour...

Need I say why? Just one look at them should be reason enough. I don't understand why they have the fanbases that they do.

Annoying, eh? It's a tie between Kuja for being weird and pointless and Seymour for coming back again and again and again and again and again and again... and again and again...and again and again...and again and again...

Since we are talking about annoying I would say almost any villain in the games counts, with the exception of the minor beasties that you gain most of your levels from.

So many of them were so badly dressed (Sephiroth, Seymour, the Queen from FFIX, Kuja), and they almost all talked either too much or not at all. Seymour blabbed for no reason, Sephiroth was always distracted by his own ego, Kuja was a little motor-mouth.

Speaking of Kuja...I thought he was supposed to be a she at first. It took until after that first battle in the rain soaked village to figure out that Kuja was male. What's that say about whether or not you could develop any connection to the villain in a story when you don't know what is going on in there?

Zorn and Thorn. Hands down. Gods, I hated those two.

I disliked Seymour...his voice sometimes reminded me of Sebastian from The Little Mermaid...that made me laugh...I guess that was his only saving grace.

And Ultros was an a-hole. He had nothing better to do than to get in my way. Attention hungry mofo!

I know Deleta wasn't really a villain in FFT, but he annoyed the hell out of me when I thought he was. Damn traitor.

The Queen from FF9..I couldn't stand her expressions.

Seifer from FF8(and his lackeys)I hated his expressions too. Raijin and Fuijin were extremely annoying(especially Fuijin with her CAPPED WORDS. GRR RAGE)

Seymour from FFX. Tried stealing Tidus's woman and had a gay voice.

Scarlet from FF7..she was such a tramp. Oh, and I hated that female Turk, too. Elena? Damn she was stupid.

I'd say him, but not because the manner in which he talks, I love how that crazy dude talks. I say he is the most annoying due to the manner in which he keeps coming up at the worst times and forcing you to level up for an hour and how he keeps trying to tap Yuna. I have certainly uttered "Damnit, Seymour!" more than I've uttered "Damnit, Sephiroth!". hehe.

Garland from FF9 because Kuja kills him and still won't shut up.

Simple Answers:

FFVI- Kefka- I just couldnt stand his laugh and his personality.

FFIX- Kuja- I think I was expecting somewhat of a more evil looking villain I just didnt feel that way with Kuja

FFVII- Heidegerr- No comment...

Ultimecia and Sifer

Ultimecia was just too redundant. After the umpteenth time she showed her "TRUE power", I just didn't care about the ending anymore.

I actually liked Sifer, 'till he killed Odin (later to be replaced with the crappiest summons ever: Gilgamesh).

It's a tie between Seymour, Leblanc (and her 'goons'), Sephiroth, or Seifer (get the spelling right, people!).

I almost put Yu-Yevon up there because we knew next to nothing about him. But I later found out what Yu-Yevon was all about. It's in these forums so search for it if you want to find out.

I think as far as out of battle during cutscenes and stuff it would be Seifer, he just has that annoying attitude of thinking of himself as the best.

In battle I would say Kuja, I had to fight him a over a lot because of the extreme amounts of damage he would deal at once. It was mostly just a race to pull off as much 9999 damage attacks as I could before all my characters died. Necron wasn't annoying to me because I was lucky enough to beat him on the first try.

Ultimecia or Ultros.

Ultimecia was annoyingly boring and one-dimensional. Ultros was basically Gilgamesh 2.0 but just not as cool. He lacked a certain something that Gilgamesh had.

Seymour just unpleasant

Annoying villains? There are compelling villains, chaotic villains, poorly-conceived, contrived and complete abortions-of-imagination villains (*cough* Ultimecia *cough* Necron) but I don't know that any really annoyed me. Could Sephiroth count because he has the most annoying fans? Even Zorn and Thorn were mildly amusing, if not laugh out loud amusing like Gilgamesh or Ultros.

i know people who couldnt beat Ultimecia with a Gameshark. i beat her in five tries with over half my powers sealed.

i hated the Emerald/Ruby Weapons(FFVII), the Seymore battles(FFX), and Sorceress Adel(FFVIII)

All of the villians were annoying because they kept me from accomplishing my mission.

I think the game designers wanted her to have a sorta "arrogant accent." Yeah, that's right.

I sorta liked Ultimecia. It's probably just me, but sometimes I think we see too much of the main villain. Not knowing anything about her was sorta refreshing, in my eyes. It added an air of mystery.

But as for my least favorite villains, I'd have to vote Fuijin. Raijin's way of talking was, I'll admit it, very cool. Seifer was kickass, but with Fuijin I wasn't diggin' the pirate porn look. Seriously, dye your hair or something- you're what, in your twenties? With gray hair? Gimme a break....

Zorn and Thorn, Ultros, Ultimecia.

Dark Cloud from FFIII (NES) was a bit of a pain just trying to beat. It must have taken me over 20 tries. It kept using the same cheap attack over and over...

Seymour: he kept coming back for more punishment (i felt sorry for him)

Yu Yevon:quite possibly the worst boss square has ever made

Most sensible people would say that a villain who isn't screaming every other sentence is more threatening than one who has no self-control.

Nah I think that a more spontaneous and unpredictable angry villian is more scary. Anger is more threatening and impulsive.

A less sensible person wouldn't take into consideration that it actually works both ways.

I'm sorry to be so blunt, but that's a very ignorant view. Spontaneity and impulsiveness do make a person more dangerous on a face-to-face level, but that kind of behavior seldom leads to large-scale damage. If you look at the greatest villains in fiction, as well as the most destructive people in history, very few of them are as you've described.

Although Seymour doesn't display that kind of intelligance. He doesn't really show a strategy or anything.

In fact, the only ones I can think of off the top of my head are the ones from FFIX. I can't speak for the villains in FFXII, having found the game to be so boring that I couldn't finish it.

I think the worst villians are probably Lady Yunalesca and Dark Aeons.
Although they aren't really that overwhelming theyre just ridiculously strong.

I can't remember FF7 very well because I was rather young when I played it. I think Beatrix from 9 was a really good villian though, shes always stuck in my mind.

I think you are all being too harsh on Ultimecia. At the end of the game when Squall is lost in time after defeating Ultimecia he is at the orphanage and sees Ultimecia pass on her powers to Edea. Thus he is seing the beginning of the story as well as the end of the story.

Timeline (sort of)
1 - Edea became a sorceress when she received a sorceresses powers at the orphanage.
2 - Edea and Cid create SeeD to fight the sorceress if she became hostile.
3 - Edea gets possessed by Ultimecia of the future.
4 - Ultimecia of the future tries to compress time and gets defeated by SeeD.
5 - Ultimecia has to pass on her powers to someone before she dies and finds Edea at the orphanage in the time compressed world.
6 - Go to 1.

Classic time loop situation. The events will unfold over and over for eternity. So while you may think Ultimecia is redundant she actually is the catalyst for the whole story line.

Im fairly fond of most of them from kefka onwards. The ones before him were fairly boring and not very developed for the most part. Zeromus and Ultimecia were annoyingly random given how late they showed up. Seymour had a very annoying personality but I guess it was the vice that drove me over the edge there. Kuja was a queen. Sephiroth, no real problems there. He only gets dissed by the spiteful old schoolers because he's popular. This Genesis guy irritates the hell out of me though. Kefka was very good. Maybe a little hard to take seriously at times. Making the main villain the comic relief is unusual. Vayne was a very good villain. No complaints there.

FFVI's "monster-in-a-box" fights. No matter who (or what) you're fighting. You think you're about to get something cool, but noooo. You get some pain in the neck monster and a junk item usually.

The exception to that rule would be KatanaSoul, though. He's actually a tough enemy with a stupidly powerful item.

Here's one...Ozma from IX. Sure he isn't "dasterdly" or have a roll really in the game...but I find him very annoy as he is the only sidequest boss...or any boss for that matter that I cannot beat!

I didn't care about his background or who he was at all and thus his place in the story was just a pile of sludge I had to wade through.

Though having gone through FFX-2 more thoroughly this time around (doing my best to get 100%) I like the game a lot more.

As for the most annoying villian, I would have to say Seymour and Kefka.

I personnaly prefer hard bosses, I can only feel respect for them if they show me some good strategy, power or plain good evil. I don't like to see villans whine or make stupid mistakes. I usually don't judge them by appearance or voice tone, but I'll make an exeption. So I guess it's like this...

Seymour is too weak, doesn't show any strategy, I fail to see his reason for evil, exept: ''Poor me, Yuna doesn't like me.'' But he looks good. I like the Anima relationship. He has good battle theme.

Sephiroth is hard enough, I guess... good music... too many fans...lol

He is just evil at first, by nature, later frustrated by his mortality... plain but trully villan like. Powefull and good music. Strongest Ultima ever. More forms instead of Necron woud have been better. The only thing I can't forgive him is that he had a comment: ''This boy could become a problem'' reffering to Zidane and then did nothing about it! That was so stupid and the only sorry way to justify is to say: If he killed Zidane, what would we be playing then? But it's still pathetic... I also remembered one more thing... If you cast reflect at him, he will just continue to cast curaga and heal YOU, like some retard. That kind of behavior made me lose respect quite a bit.

I agree. I hate Kefka. I think he's gay and the fact that he's a clown makes it worse. He reminds me of Pennywise from IT, I.E. a rape clown.

Il go with Necron,i mean we are introduced and progressed throughout the game with Kuja and the Queen and Gar.....sry it slipped my mind lol(Kuja's creator).but then out of nowhere we have to fight necron who wants to destroy everything,its a bit anti-climatical with this and was not a good additional to the storyline unless we knew more(in more obvious points) but no they are only briefed at times and it turns out to be a orbish creature XD

Evrae, when you first fight him in Bevelle. When I was playing FFX for the first time he was the toughest boss for me. And with having to move the ship and Evrae constantly casting Haste on himself, it was really annoying.

I was going to say Sephiroth, but I don't find him annoying. Just very silly. Not the greatest villian. So, whatev.

I get Supreme's point about Seymour-- not so sure about Kefka, though-- I don't recall him being anywhere close to Seymour as far as the whole just not dying thing. You only fight him once in Narshe and you certainly don't kill him then-- he just runs away. And sure, he does the whole multiple forms thing at the end, but he's certainly not the only FF final boss to do that.

Yes. I didn't try it on the one you fight in Bevelle however, but that one was rather unchallenging as well.

The great marlboros from the omega ruins, mainly because as soon as they use bad breath, your dead, unless you have thee best of the best. Also that one from XII with about 50million health, litaraly.

True, you do have to fight Ultros a number of times, though, honestly, I found Ultros too amusing to be too annoyed by him.

I actually find Seymour to be a hot villain, Yuna was a stupid girl to pass this one up, I wish she would've given him to me instead rawr. I didn't hate any villains in FF games yet (I've only played FF7, FF8, and FF10 and I didn't complete any of them), but I do know that I don't like Tidus cause he's way too cheery.

You consider Tidus to be "too cheery"? If that's the case, then I'd be interested to see what you think of Zidane if you ever play Final Fantasy IX...

I'm just a fan of the more serious main characters like Sqaul from FF8

Oh and my least fav boss is that undead dragon in FFCC, man that thing was almost impossible to kill without a life magicite, and the first time I fought him, I didn't know that so it took me forever to kill it.

Seymour is definitely annoying. I can think of nothing more annoying than an ecosystem where your enemies are allowed to come back to woo your girlfriend.
