Howdy,

If anyone else out thier is as disappointed with the new abomination from nintendo, the Wii(K), i'd like to hear so. All my buddies are absolutly fascinated with it, and personaly, I don't undersstand why. Yes the controller is unique and yes it has alot of good ideas going into it.....but where does it go from their?? the weather channel??? are you kidding me??? Since when did i pop on my gaming system in hopes of catching the weather coming up this weekend, or the news reviews from other people with even less time on their hands...

Someone please tell me I'm not alone in my complete and utter mis understanding of the draw for a Nintendo Wiik

As a PS3 owner who has no plans on buying a Wii, even I think this thread is garbage. Point being: Not all systems are for everyone. Just because you don't like the Wii it doesn't make it that much less of a gaming machine. You obviously have a different taste in a gaming console and maybe you should stick to discussing that which you have in common with others. Coming here just to bash a system is pretty immature. You are aware of the fact that it has video games too, right? Amazingly, the sole purpose of the system is not to tell you the weather.

Nice argument, next time try playing a Wii game or even a VC game. The news/weather channel are useless, true, but so is the CD player in Playstations.

Also, the news comes from Associated Press. You know, journalists.

So i'd say that they've got a bit more clarity than you do.

The weather channel is a feature, you don't have to use it. The weather channel is actually quite convenient anyway, means you can access the weather any time you like.

The base performance for the Wii and any gaming console is playing games, therefore it should only be judged on that.

People who buy consoles based on their 'extra features' should be shot. PS3 can play movies, so can a dvd player and computer. Wii can view the weather, so can a computer and tv (sometimes during the day). X-Box.... well x-box can't really do anything can it? It's just a box with an X on it that claims it plays video games (It doesn't actually, it just tricks your mind into thinking you're playing games). But that's besides the point. You buy a console for the games not for features.

And in the end all the consoles have their advantages and disadvantages, good games and bad games, get over it.

damn, I wish a Wii wouldn't be so inflated in price and hard to find over here.

I actually got to spend some time with the Wii saturday night at a coworkers house where she hosted a house warming party. I will admit I had fun, but it's something I wouldn't buy.

I have no fun with my Wii anymore. I am guessing it'll stay that way until Mario Galaxy comes out or something. Or Pokemon.

I might check out Super Paper Mario but who knows. The next game I'm buying FOR SURE is Pokemon Battle Revolution. I really can't wait.

In the mean time, I'm more than happy to play old GCN games on it that I never played before due to not having a GCN.

I'm not playing anything really, so I guess a $250 system doing nothing is better than a $600 one doing the same thing.

Though I knew when I was getting it that it was simply for Mario Galaxy and Brawl, so bleh. I may pick up the Pokemon game, though I doubt I get Super Paper Mario anytime soon just because I know I won't have the time to play it as I prepare my Pokemon for the Sinnoh region.

I don't even own a Wii. I am just getting amped up for PokeMon Pearl by playing Emerald and FireRed on my GBA. I also just played Zelda: A Link to the Past on my SNES which was fun. But I will most likely get a XBOX360 before a Wii.

Especially since Twilight princess is actually a gamecube game, yet everyone seems to think it's the Wii zelda. It's a gamecube game, wii port. The real Wii zelda is yet to come out.

It is a good game, i'll give you that. but personally, i think oot is better.

Also, the reason i mentioned the fact Twilight princess wasn't the Wii Zelda was because there was many complaints about it not using the graphical power of the Wii to it's full extent or something like that. Also it's motion sensing was very sub-par. Since it was added in, rather than built into the game.

Right, and if it had remained just on the GameCube, less people would have played it and it would have been an inferior game, whether it takes "full advantage" of the Wii hardware or not. So it's really a moot point. =/

If you're getting a Wii, i'd highly recommend super smash bros. brawl as well. Any Wii owner should be ashamed if they don't own that game when it comes out.

I got cable tv, and I was digging it until I started looking through the channels and they tried to tell me the weather. I was like "what? foo think I can't go outside".

Then I called the cable company and told them they were a lameble company and that they better give me my money back and stop trying to ride me like a rodeo.

I wasn't complaining about it when i said that. I was 'bringing it to attention'. There have been many complaints that it hasn't used the Wii to it's full potential. I was just bringing to peoples attention that it wasn't actually the Wii zelda, therefore you can't expect it to use the Wii's full potential. When i said the release games weren't too good, i was talking about them in a whole. Meaning the bad release games dragged down the good ones. Zelda is just one game among many release games, it can't fight them all off lol.
