Hey guys, just a silly poll wondering what kind of keyboard style you prefer. Do you play using the arrow keys? Or do you like the 'wsad' way?

I always used the wsad keys, because you have alomt more direct acces to nearby keays that can be configured nomerous ways. It also has to do with the fact that on the controllers of all consoles, the movement stick is on the left.

However this is more of a thread that would belong in general gaming.

Wsad 4 Lyfe.

Since playing Warcraft I've been playing Wsad with all my games due to being able to use my numbered macro actions, move around, etc and have my right hand open to use the mouse for anything I need it for.

I use both.

I think I've always thought i was 'supposed' to use the arrow keys. Especially when you look at all the old games (like commander keen with just the simple arrows and spacebar to shoot), it wasn't until they added player two (like i dunno, comet busters?) when i started using other keys... oh and there's always the numpad (which isn't always there).

Arrows also due to the Commander Keen and like games. But lately now that I have been using Emulators and a few other games I use WASZ Configure instead of WASD because it just makes sense to me. But the only down side is I have to Reconfigure some of the Keys inorder to get it.

Well, since most of my earlier gaming experiences are on IBM PC machines (10 function keys no dedicated arrow keys and no dedicated page keys), for me it's usually the numeric pad 8,6,4 and 2. Then I got a gamepad for my PC and hated playing games with the keyboard ever since.

fucking wasd forever bitches! all fps's are made with wasd as default! its superior.

but mostly in fps's. strats i never use the keyboard at all. just the mouse. :p

Considering that many modern PCs stem from the original IBM PCs, yeah. Very true.

I gave WASD a shot when I first got Quake II a few years ago, but I quickly reverted to 8-6-4-2 after a while of playing it. And once I figured out how to get the gamepad working, the keyboard fell into disuse.

I believe that everyone's born with psychic and PK powers. You just need to know how to access your's.

i never played a game with arrow keys as default for moving. all had wasd as default so i have to go with wasd

I almost never play PC games, but I always go with the arrow keys on those oh-so-rare occassions.

I vary my playing style, depending on what game it is, but I'm mostly into WASD now, as opposed to the arrow keys.

Hate the arrow keys...with a passion. If I need better direction than W-A-S-D, I'll use a joystick :P

Hmm... WASD for 99% of games. I rarely use arrow keys for anything really, except for scrolling.

I should have allowed gamepad plugin, numpad, and other... can you edit polls on a forum?
