It comes out really soon I take it since it comes out in Spring.

CAN'T WAIT:-P

I just want to see how it turns out, more curiosity than anything else. Since madhouse is doing the animation, it should at least have that going for it.
Here's a link to the site (http://dmc-tv.com/)

I saw the trailer they had for it and from what I saw it's really cool.

I won't even think about touching it, most likely. Anime adaptations of video games almost always suck pretty badly.

You started this thread, replied to every post so far, and have managed to say nothing more than "I can't wait" and "the trailer is cool." You've never even said the name of the show! This is a nasty waste of space and I will close it if it continues to be this awful. Commence with some actual discussion or shut the fuck up.

Hmmm I wounder what it will be called if it's DMC (Devil may cry) if you did not know. I bet it will be called " Devil May Cry"

It looks like it will be based on DMC 3 from Dante's design. It looks cool but I will hold off on my opnion till I see a real trailer with the Animation and some of the voices like the Hellsing OVA trailer that came out a few years ago.

And Prak what Video game based Anime have you seen? I personally have never run into a single one excepet Xenosaga which I haven't seen yet. I have seen plenty of Movie Anime based Games and for the most part those Suck though there is a Gem here or there.

EDIT- Forgot about Last order but that is it.

It has potential, but has Prak said, too many game-based anime have been terrible... Viewtiful Joe (in my opinion, of course) was shit; Xenosaga: the Animation had so much potential but kind of faltered by cramming in too much sidestory; Dark Stalkers (or Vampire hunter OVA, as it's called) was just ridiculous; MegaMan NT Warrior was also shit and made the baby Jesus cry.
Must I go on?
Granted, some were good... what about all those lovely dating SIMS/shoujo games with cute girls that got made into anime (To Heart, AIR, Tokimeki Memorial, Lovedol, etc.)
I will admit this might work, but again, I'm waiting to see it in action before I pass judgement.

i agree, but DMC seems to fit as an anime, fast constant voilence,me ,i probobly wont watch it either as i dont like the games. the plot seemed pretty nonexistant, but they were still kinda fun, good gameplay and all that.

I doubt I'll check it out unless it's something special. I'm not particularly fond of the art on the screenshot either. The game was good, but as Prak had pointed out, video game adoptions have been known the fail miserably. But you never know, could be the one to break the trend.

Who's the anime team on this? The art style looks wierd.

Are they getting Daryl and the Reverend to do their own voices or are they hiring voice actors? I would think they might be open to it since Hammer had his own cartoon at one time and now Andre 3000 does as well. Also what are they going to do about Jam Master Jay? I think it would be creepy if they had him in any show.

Madhouse Studios is doing the animation.
It looks way too much like X TV.

I was so eager for DMC anime to come out (as a DMC fan), but when it did, I watched it and it wasn't nearly as good as I had expected...

Maybe it's just me. o_O

It wasn't just you. I didn't like it much myself.

I found out that only the first and last three episodes were actually meant to be legit for the Anime, and that the second through about ninth were technically fillers for the short saga.

Over half the episodes were not supposed to exist.

Devil May Cry is beautiful. Prak. Watch it. It's about just as brilliantly gorgeous as Ghost in The Shell. Also, it's flawless.

^ Hahahah. Praks right in giving the OP a hard time about vague info. I was under the impression we were talking about a DMZ anime till I heard Video Game then I realized I was seeing letters that weren't there.
Shame, I did get quite excited too.
I would have worked it out sooner too if I clicked on z.zetsumei's link. But I'm not one for clicking links. And on that note here is a link on DMZ incase someone is wondering what I'm on about.

I've downloaded the DMC anime but I haven't gotten a chance to watch it yet. I've never played the video games but a lot of people have been saying that it's not very good.

That's because it's not very good. The DMC anime is the worst show I've watched all year.

I've seen it before, and as a fan of Devil May Cry from the beginning.. it is so disappointing. There are no action scenes. NONE. If there is a fight in an episode, it lasts about 4 seconds, and Dante doesn't even really fight.

well, i watched the first episode and im quite sure i dont want to see the rest.

first episodes are the ones that are supposed to draw you into the series with its story, action, or whatever.

this anime didnt do it for me.

It was pretty good. I found it quite entertaining. Although there were flaws. Dante didn't seem to have that cocky personality he had in the games and although he was still seriously badass... He seemed to lack the personality he showed in the games (barring of course DMC2). The fight scenes were also kinda disappointing, I was expecting something far more intense. Nonetheless I still liked it.

I was dissapointed with it, was like the blade series, big build up, massive let down, couldn't even touch the originals.

I personally liked the anime. I'm not into the ones that are nothing but flash and action (such as the games, but as a gamer that's what I like). But I think they should've based this over the DMC novel. I also didn't like how Dante isn't nearly as cocky and sarcastic as he is in the games. Then again, I'm watching the Japanese ones, so I don't know if the English VA's have tried to change that or not.

I actually thought that the Anime was good, but I think they would have done a better job in some parts. The English dub actually surprised me of how they did an alright job.

I liked the fact that Reuben Langdon reprised his role as Dante.
