Has anyone seen this show? It's on Cartoon Network, Saturday at midnight where I live. It's a very cool show, combining anime with Comp animation. If you haven't seen it, check it out.

CN got the name mixed up I believe. I think the REAL title is The Candidate for Goddess.

Isn't the cartoon network the one that banned speedy gonzales?

back on the subject, i think the whole design is pretty cool from the mechs to the characters to the clothing

like that white suit the main character wears( cant remember his name only saw it like twice) and the character design with the guy that has the white hair. And bleh, i hate the computer graphics, they should've kept it all animation. The only other anime i like with computer animtion is zoids, which im about to make a thread about......

It's pretty funny they still call it Pilot Candidate and they have the beginning that calls it Candidate For Goddess.

It is wierd. I guess they just needed to shorten it.

Yeah, and that suit that Zero wears is pretty cool. I think the teacher is pretty funny.

Sounds interesting, hopefully it comes down to Australia although they will prolly not show it for long. They bought Gundam Wing on and showed about 20 episodes then took it off. That was about...3 months ago maybe, I was not happy about it either.

I have seen an ad for it. Ive seen the tape at my comic store. From what I have seen it looks okay.
I need to ask, are there cute boys? No, wait, make this: Are the characters well done, is the animation good and what about the story?
Should I spend my dear money on it?

Before this series came to CN I'd been checking it from time to time on this Spanish channel that'd show some anime on the weekends. The plot seemed rather involved, the music, impressive, the graphics were awesome, and I was excited after hearing I'd finally get to see it in English at long last. But after having watched the first few episodes on Adult Swim I'm wondering where said feeling went. I believe the translation (that horrible dialogue -_-) is mostly to blame for it.

Anyhow, I'm not so sure about the story, though it can't be too hard to guess from the get-go that basically those kids are training to get mega-connected with their mega-machines and kick mega-butt.

I'm not too fond of the costumes myself, since even though they're quite original they seem too perky for a place like G.O.A.
The classcal music score, while very nicely composed is a tad too over-dramatic at times. We don't need an entire symphony to accompany the scene where Zero knocks that girl's hat off.

So far for me the most impressive thing about the series has to be the graphics, along with the animation. With everything being so smooth and detailed I really can't complain.

When I watch this I'm somehow reminded of Eva.

Ok, here are my thoughts on this anime....

It's all dialogue, there is barely any background music, that makes the show less exciting already....big points off for me...

The costume designs are all pretty good, and the animation on the people is nice, always crisp....

The mecha designs are very good as well....pretty creative.

However, this show is very hard for me to look at.... I'm a big time believer that it's NOT a good thing for artists to rely too much on computers and this anime is the very epitome of why that scares me, nearly EVERYTHING but the people is done by computers, and then it looks very ODD... the camera movements, etc....it's pretty horrible CG, and then the people don't fit well at all with it.

The story is pretty interesting though.....so I could possibly just listen and close my eyes when they show the CG CRAP...heh

The voice acting on the english dub is typical, not too bad, but nothing genius either. I think the new WordFit dumbs up the dubs, who cares if it always fits their mouths, when you're trying to fit in weird crap just to be in synch with the mouth flaps, it helps produce bad acting.... because you can't even control the emotion hardly, you have to focus on your timing...which is bad if you have to say why CAAAAAANT you dothis right!? instead of Why Cant you do this RIGHT?! ...see what I mean?

Also.....the animation/design of the female characters is pretty cute, they come off looking nice and attractive, however the males don't look much different, only having flat chests and shorter hair typically. This is a bad thing, the guys should atleast seem a little bigger, taller, and massive than the girls. I know they're supposed to be teenagers, but come on. The "adult" males in the show are as they should be, but are most teenage guys at 17 much different from a 27 year old guy? Not as much as portrayed here....

anyway, those are my thoughts. So long, I doubt anyone will read...heh

It would probably be better to buy some episodes at your local anime shop, being that CN most likely edits the crap out of it.
