But yes, the six-pack is just all kinds of wrong. It looks perfectly alright in the concept art (because it ISN'T there), why would they pull that in-game?

and vaan's six-pack is there in the concept art - it's just all nice and smoothed out. haha, in-game, the graphics are not as refined, therefore he comes out with blocky muscles. ;o i still don't get why his skin always looks so dirty in-game, though. so many tones. :(

I've noticed that many of the main characters look very similar in their facial styles. They have different eye colors, hair colors and styles, and clothing, and height/weight, etc. But there is something I can't put my finger on that makes most of the characters look the same. I never noticed anything like this in the previous FF's.

I've never really liked Nomura's character designs to begin with.

While we're on the topic of Vaan being poorly constructed...

He has a pretty face but no man Boobs so I don't see how you can get that. There is a LONG line from Androgyny to just pretty males.
Sephiroth is Androgyny personified with the long hair if he covered his chest and had a little "Padding" you wouldn't be able to tell.

Most likely, that's because you can clearly see his flat chest. If he was fully clothed, instead of wearing a cropped, open vest thing, he might appear more androgynous.

No Vaan speaks act and moves very male he just has a pretty face is all. Oh and about the Muli-colored skin that is Normal in a Dry desert Climate. The clothes you wear and work you do will shade you like that. Example I am in a Very sunny place and have gotten a workers tan on the upper parts of my forarms but on the bottom part I have a White and I mean WHITE stripe despite how long I have been in the sun same goes for the areas near the elbows it is darker then my upper arms but lighter then my forarms. You also get strange patterns from skin hair and other things givening shape to it.

Also before someone brings it up the reason why there is such low Hair and skin color selction is because the area we are looking at is small. There isn't really a chance for diversity to set in espically in the mix of High tech and Low tech you get. Blondes are common in a desert region the Sun belive it or not DOES bleach hair to blonde if you are out in it enough so Rabanastre is perfectly with in bonds as for Archadia will Nobles for the Most part have always cherised Gold and considered Blondes a sign of good status symbol why I have no clue really other then the facts that Blondes stand out from most normal people who are Brown or Black with out Dye. I really don't know since I am a Redhead since birth so I can't relate too well since I stand out just Walking in the sun.

I beg to differ, there are plenty of equatorial countries where the predominant hair color is brown or black. The people located in these countries are also mostly agrarian workers and therefore are exposed to massive amounts of sunlight during their everyday life.

As for androgeny, if you look at it's root words you'll find that it's composed of andras (man/masculine) and gyne (female/feminine). The term adrogeny is a fusing of the two words, resulting in a term used to refer to those of a fusion of male and female genders or a lack of gender identification.

If you look at the picture I posted, you can read "girly manboy", which is pretty much a layman's term for androgeny.

As for Sun bleaching it takes constant Sunshine to do it the kind only hard farm work or Constant travel would leave you out in. Most people wear Hats or the trees can prevent this from happening. Also Black haired people usually don't go Blonde a lighter shade of Black maybe grayish but not Blonde usually. Brown hair is the one the usually goes Blonde if exposed to the sun too long. Also people out to sea a lot get it as well if they are not careful

Not true look at his face and a few other places you will see it. The high end CGs you won't but the In-game engine you will.

Ok, hold on.. No one looks more Feminine in the game than Larsa. Seriously, Up until one of my party members mentioned he was the brother to Vayne, I was ROFling..Even his/it's voice sounds like a girl..I dunno. But I always thought Mr Guado looked slightly on the feminine side too..
