Yay! I just bought a pair of new joy pads, so I am finally able to play my old Genesis again, for the first time in ten years. I can't believe how much I remember; I am basically gliding through my old games as if it was only yesterday I last played them. It amazing how quickly it all came back to me.

Ever gone back to one of your old consoles, and how quickly did it take you to get right back in there?

Oh my yes

Although my Megadrive is now in a deep slumber under my bed i sometimes dust it off for a little of the old two-player Streets of Rage. However, most of the time i give the old chap and rest and just emulate it on my PSP.

I remember waking up on a frosty christmas moring and rushing downstairs only to find a crisp Megadrive sitting on the couch. Me and my brother tore the box to pieces, hooked it up, slammed in a cartiage and let out jaws hit the floor. My best memory from my gaming childhood is my and my older brother finishing Streets of Rage. Right at the end where Mr.X asks both players if they would like to be his right hand man, i said to my brother "Ok, we BOTH pick no, Ok?". He nodded with a smile. I chose "No" and he chose "Yes". Then like usual, we went head to head and he beat my brains in.

Wow, all of those games are classic. I don't know how many hours I've spend on Streets of Rage and Street Fighter.

What memories. ;-;

My Genesis must have about 10 feet of dust on it, by now, so I don't really think it's going to be in great working order. Which is a shame, because while the SNES did sometimes have the better selection, the Genesis had some damn rock-solid games.

Haven't touched my Genesis/Megadrive in years. Got it in late '93 iirc. I think I last plugged it in sometime in 2003 to check if it's still working. It was. Right now it lives somewhere in my cupboard of lost computer parts and other junk.

Anyone remember this game? My favorite game, like ever. I don't have it anymore, and I've been searching eBay forever, alas, I've had no luck finding it. ;_;

^try searching internationally?

In Australia there is game traders website/organization where you list games you have for sale and trade etc. Get games dirt cheap, a lot of games you WONT find on eBay. Maybe where you are has one.

I sold my Genesis on eBay about 4 years ago, i got 120.00AU for it lol. I regret selling it now, as I enjoyed playing it. I had some great games. I was a proud Sonic addict. Had Sonic 1, 2, 3, Sonic and Knuckles 1,2,3 Sonic Pinball, Sonic 3D and I think thats it. I was mad aboout Sonic. As a lot have said Streets of Rage was awesome fun. Many late nights with mate playing that till the final boss lol. But now I just emulate on my PC, attempted to have a go on my PSP but couldnt get it working.

Megadrive 2(Which was just another version of the original)

That's the one I have. But it's still ten years old.

Me and and my bothers used to rent Sega Megadrives out before we even owned a console. And I used to play it at my mates house around the time the N64 came out (I remember liking it more than my N64). Road Rash was fucking awesome. We played Streets of Rage and Sonic a lot too.

Also; Every game people have mentioned is awesome. Except Flashback, I've never heard of that.

I cannot believe that I had the old Megadrive...
I always thought that the one I used to have was a copy, or something (here in argentina people don't usually buy original consoles, so it's very common to see a Nes with the shape of a Psx2 =P... I know, very cool and original, but sucks in the end =P).

Anyway, the best games that I have ever played were from Sega (not all, but most of them): Sonic 2 (I love the Ocremix), Eternal Champions, Mortal Kombat 2, Earthworm Jim 1y2, Vectorman, Street of Rage 1&2, TMNT, and Dragon Ball Z.

I don't think I'll eer get rid of my Genesis or Megadrive. Too many great games for both console.

As a matter of fact, I just played M.U.S.H.A. a few days ago.

I still have a copy of that (although I have serious feelings that it's a bootleg copy, not sure). I still remember how you can score in soccer if Elmyra is the goalkeeper for the competing team - she always misses overhead shots :)

Ahh, lots of memories. I really should pull out my Megadrive (clone) and play it again sometimes.

I also have Tiny Toons: Buster's Hidden treasure for the console. And the Japanese version of Super Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers.

You mean like Jungle Strike? I heard of it and played it on an emulator, but never owned the cartridge.
