beside using limewire, does anyone have a good site for downloading music for free? I've been to albumbase and i want a site similar to that, but the reason i'm looking for other sites because you have a limited amount of downloads on the site. So, can anyone help?

PS: i posted this twice on 2 different forums so don't mention it, i did it on purpose.

My best advice would be blogging, as it's mostly run by people personally. I've downloaded a lot of music (albums, CD-singles, soundtracks and such) from a couple of blogs, and it's no hazzle as they most of the time link the downloads to Rapidshare, Gigasize or such.

Probably not able to advertise, but contact me, I have the best site in the world for full albums. It will never be deleted, and it is free.

Learn to use bittorrent and type discography in the search bar of your torrent site of choice.

Imesh is spyware central. I didn't think there was anyone around that even remembered imesh.

If you have to use p2p get emule, its clean and uses a bunch of european networks.

Goto www.shareminer.com, and use the search tool there to search what you're looking for.

Soulseek (http://www.slsknet.org/) is far better than Limewire because the latter will crash your entire works..

Screw p2p. Learn to use torrents.

Torrents will not find everything that soulseek will.

I would say for 90% of the stuff i download I use torrents. Its faster and you get complete albums.

Torrents are only great if the torrent is fresh and popular torrents that lack seeders suck. But music torrents tend to have enough seeders.

I find users on soulseek that get me files way faster than if I were using torrents, but hey.

oink > all. soulseek is pretty awesome too but getting everything in one torrent is handy and it usually is quicker because less searching, plus you get really good quality/whatever quality you like really.

i dunno, it's just easier or sth. sadly oink is invite only and i dont have any because. well. i'm not sure how you get them haha.

I've recently begun using Torrents and I've never been more satisfied.

If you're going to use Torrents then I recommend you run PeerGuardian 2 (http://phoenixlabs.org/pg2/). What that does is it blocks certain torrents (using block lists) depending on their original location, this cuts down on the chances of you being caught out by the RIAA and the like when they use fake torrents. One problem that PeerGuardian gives me though is that it might stop me from accessing certain websites like BBC News, but this can be remedied by clicking the 'Allow HTTP' button in the PeerGuardian program.

Another way to get music is to signup to the ShareMiner forums (http://shareminer.com/forum/) and then use their search fuction to search under 'Blogminer Music Archives' for whatever you want. The links are to upload sites like MegaUpload and RapidShare, but downloading from them is far safer than downloading torrents.

I like emule. limewire lacks of good stuff and others I haven't try as from emule i've got everything I ever wanted.
if you are looking for music then you should try iacmusic.com. there are some 2000 different radio stations so you can pick your own style. I like such 80s minded music so i'd suggest you the pop wave station (http://www.iacmusic.com/station.aspx?StationID=2334)

p2p was good two years ago. Now I can't rely on those. I just have favourite blogs I visit, as well as torrents for full albums (I usually end up purchasing anything I bother to get off torrents, unless it's a super cool rare bootleg, which I get quite a few of).

Try torrents.to or the pirate bay.
