you need an amplifier if you are playing an electric guitar

or do you have that particular piece of sound equipment

seriously, all you probably need in the medium term is a place that'll let you hire a PA if you're going to play live.

Amps, mics and probably recording equipment?

FFShrine isn't the place to be asking this, or to be doing research on what equipment to get. Use Google.

well regardless of how big of shows you want to play, you'll need amps for guitars, bases and keyboards, and you could even use an amp for a mic or two. Many bands also have a pa system (or share a single one at shows) which blends all the instruments/vocals together and can be modified tonally, but isn't required for basement shows, cafes, etc. You also need patch cords to plug everything in. Then its up to preferance or what you play to decide whether you want effect pedals or amp heads.
As for recording software, I highly suggest getting a Tascam that comes with Cubase LE. This package is unbelievably cheap for how much punch it can bring. I'm fully content recording with this rather than having to pay 300 bucks an hour to do it professionally at a studio, and only to have minor differences between their results and mine.
