Let's imagine for a second that you could chose to live in any Final Fantasy location that your little heart desired. Ignoring the facts of the games (towns being destroyed, evil taking over, etc), what would be your ideal place to call home?

I think I would've liked to live in Dali, from FFIX. I always found the tranquility of the small town very relaxing. It was located on a calm patch of land, next to a mountain, but with fertile enough plains to farm. Just around the corner there was Alexandria, a bustling city. With the convenience of the nearby airship station, it would be easy to travel to Lindblum.

I've always been a suburbian girl, so I would enjoy it in Dali.

Out of all the Final Fantasy games, where would you choose to live?

Yeah, I got rather curious about that as well. I always wanted to see more of Nalbina's fortress as well. The FMV sequence for when you entered it looked so cool (I think it was the one with the waterfall? I don't remember), but when you were actually walking around, it was basically an alley of traveling merchants with a closed off fortress at the end. Kinda disappointing.

Revaninja
02-23-2007, 11:43 PM
Actually you do get to see some of the fortress the begining area you run around in as Reks is Nalbina. So you do get to see some of it but I do agree it would have been cool to see the surounding town at least.

To be honest, I don't think it would have been that much different. I mean, it would still have been gray and rainy, as the city is called "Kingdom of Eternal Rain", so I highly doubt that it was ever a sunny place.

Either Besaide island since it's just seems really beautiful and tranquil there. But also since that's a really small place where everyone knows each other and all this and that. Jeuno in FFXI. It's a centre of trade and commerce for all of Vana'diel, and the design, obviously owing much to Lindblum in FFIX, is very interesting - the majority of the city is built like a giant tower at the interserction of three bridges running between San d'Oria, Bastok and Windurst, with parts of the city actually built on the bridges.

The main part of the city, including the Residential areas situated in the central cone-like tower, with the dazzling and elegant Ducal Palace of Ru'lude Gardens situated on the tower's highest level. And, by simply grabbing an airship or a chocobo the whole of Vana'diel would be my oyster.

From taking a few moments of contemplation at the Cathedral of the Goddess in Upper Jeuno, to watching adventurers throw their money away on junk at the Auction House in Lower Jeuno, or sliding back a cool one at the Marble Bridge Pub, Jeuno would be a very interesting place to live.

Either that, or Kazham, also from FFXI. A nice, iydlic village surrounded by dense jungle, populated with plenty of mithra, with just the noise of an occasional airship arrival or departure to break the tranquility. Good stuff.

Balamb Garden --- VIII --- because I always just really liked it.

Me too! I'm not sure if it's the circular design, the musical piece that perfectly accompanies the environment...or maybe it's just the quirky students that reside there. The randomness of some cadets/SeeDs has never failed to amuse me.

For myself, either: Balamb Garden, Esthar, or Luca would be terrific places to live. Strangely enough, aside from the beautiful scenery, and the general aspect of living in each place, I took into consideration what if the music we've heard perpetually played while we were to live there (batshit, I know). Now, I love all 3 tracks, esp. Balamb Garden's, but if that were the case, I think I'd go mad.

Anyway, yeah, I'd probably go with Balamb Garden. I've fantasized about it on more than one occasion. :)

Yes, that breeding ground of lust, booze, and gold would be a terrible place to reside. I mean, in addition to the horrendous music, which would kill the mood for any setting, there's the colors. Those colors which make a clown look like an extra in a Charlie Chaplin film, and the nerve of it being... neon. I don't even want to get started on the locals. Haha.

I can't actually recall if people actually LIVE there or just commute in, but it's a nice little slice of Gaia.

FFX - Luca.
Because sun, sea and Blitzball is probably the best combination you'll get on Spira :>.

405luxray do not revive dead threads. Make a new thread if the topic is similar to one you want to talk about.

Laguna and Raines town from FFVIII.

FFVII? I would live with the chocobo sage because his senility would be hilarity. But seriously...whats that place called where cloud was found? Starts with an M I think. There.

IX? Alexandria, where else?

X? I wouldnt live in X. I would leave for another FF.

XII? I dont know. I think the Pirate town, because of the hot pirate woman there.

Ahhh! Finally. I was going through all the posts, trying to find someone who answered Winhill.
And although you weren't quite there yet, I found one *-*

YES! Winhill would be my fav place from the FF's.. So peaceful.
