Go to Rabanstrae-sp?- exit to Giza Plains look for a Seeq wandering around when you talk to him he will change his name to Weather-eye and will give you a rough estimate of how much longer the Dry and Wet have till they change or come. Also the Weather changes roughly every hour or so. So if it is dry go away for 30 minutes then come back and check then keep it up until it changes is all.

yeah right, one hour!!?? it takes like 3-6 min most of the time for me, or you could just leave and come back in like three times and it would work, but most likely after you talk to weather eye for the first time

Huh? What are you smoking I have never seen it shift after 5 to 6 minutes unless if it was already almost time to change. Trust me from Rain to Dry is an Hour each way Game Time. This has been tested and proven by Gamefaqs Myself and other forums.

I enter'd giza plains from Rabanastre when it showed it was the dry, you know when you see the skyline and can tell what its like. It was dry, so i expected it to be the dry, but it was actually raining when i went in to giza plains.

Strange that innit, has that happend to any of you guys?

A few times what happened is that you were close to the Shift time and when you entered the zone it was dry but when you exited Rabanastre to Giza the season countdown had hit this the season was Rain but showed dry to get a Weather to be accurate like that you need to reload the zone. It was just luck and timing on your part no glitch just to be clear.

Yeah, you basically just have to go back every now and then until it changes. Try doing some other sidequests or hunts first and then returning. That usually does it for me.

you just have to go in and out of Giza 3 times for it too change, this has been proven by my testing, trust me revaninja

In order for the Gil Snapper to appear in the Tracks of the Beast, you need to have not just the rain, but a heavy rain. This is basically triggered randomly --- if you're not getting a heavy rain when you go into that area, just keep exiting and reentering if you do. It can sometimes take a little patience.

I can attest to this as well - I entered the plains during the rain, saved at the Crystal Glade and kept going in and out of the area where the Gil Snapper appears. I tried variations of zoning techniques and quitting / reloading but it would not appear for me for a long time until there was a very heavy rain (noticeable difference).

It came down to a monotonous process of zoning in and out for me.

what do you mean the main season won't come up?

Rain season, not "main season."

This is why you should be ready and leveled up for the Gil Snapper. =(

What you really can and should do is zone in and out of Giza Plains. Also, you can see from Rabanastre Southgate how the weather is in Giza Plains.

Better yet, just talk to Weather Eye --- his info is more detailed and more helpful.

But yeah, if you can fight him the first time you try, it's a lot easier, because it seems to be much easier to trigger if it's the first time attempting the battle and you don't have to come back and try again.
