Good news, assuming it wasn't them mispeaking.

I wonder what other franchises Sony is going to lose out on exclusitivity next. XD

Sony has lost several great franchises throughout the years.

I showed Prak a similar link to this in chat earlier this morning, and we both shared a great laugh. They can't seem to keep a great game, or a franchise exclusive anymore, and I wonder when Sony will begin to acknowledge that there is a big problem.

You know Sony is completely fucked when Final Fantasy comes out on another platform (besides all those handheld ones and pc)

Man, as long as Sony as the Suikoden franchise that system will take off like whateversy.

Ive recently tried to recall francaises that started on a Sony console and ended up somewhere else, or turned into multy platform games. To point some out: Tomb Rider, Driver, GTA, Resident Evil, Virtual Fighter, Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Silent Hill, Spyro the Dragon... And the latest one is Guitar Hero.

Some game needs to come out that's like 50GB so Sony can say the Blu Ray is cool.

...360 already had Guitar Hero. It was never an exclusive franchise.

Good for the wii owners I guess. Doesn't mean GH has abandoned the Playstation just yet.

...360 already is going to have Guitar Hero II. It hasn't been an exclusive franchise since September when the 360 port was announced.

Fixed. :/

The point remains that this is being spruiked like its a "OMG NINTENDO STOLE SONYS FRANCHISE!" newsflash. Which isn't the case, given Guitar Hero may have debuted on the PS2, but it was never claimed to be an exclusive franchise; as proven by the announcement of the 360 port.

It was two-fold.
Fold number one: Hey, look, it's coming to Nintendo too.
Fold number two: GH is pretty much the latest franchise for Sony to lose exclusitivity on (it was Sony exclusive at first. It's never been claimed that Halo is Microsoft exclusive, it's assumed it is - same deal here), and here is more news about how Sony is losing that, so I was wondering what they're going to lose next.

I have confirmed Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are going to be for the DS.

Shocking news. Those two games were going to be my reasons to purchase a PS3... but now, I don't know. I think Madden in the best picture quality may would win out, but I don't have HD so it is really up to Suikoden to save the day.

I didn't see that point in this thread, and it certainly didn't come from me. And yes, Guitar Hero was a Sony exclusive, but now it's not. It's that simple. Sony. Claimed. Exclusive. Now it's not. Then again, I'm trying to explain this with you, so meh.

It's not like Nintendo hasn't screwed Sony before. The SNES was supposed to be a joint console but the Nintendo Pres at the time didn't like it or something and pulled out on the deal near completion. Thus we have PS1

if sony would stop just handing over there best titles, i may actually buy a
PS3

J. Peterman

THEY STILL HAVE SUIKODEN III

THAT IS THE BEST TITLE EVER

but realy if they didn't i'd probably get a 360 b/c i'm guessing most games are going to be developed on the 360 rather than the ps3 because it will be easier to port over to wii my guess b/c if you try to make like 40 gb game on blu ray man 360 and wii say man you are too big for us ps3 says yeah man i am huge i bring the funk to the party and then ps1 is like go playstation go go go and then the nintendo ds enters the battle my gosh nintendo battles up and tries to beat ps2 but dang hard fight goes after next gen consoles instead easier battle

Nintendo also screwed the Japanese business community by screwing over a Japanese based company (Sony) for a European one (Philips). And then again when Sony decided to make there own system, Nintendo sued.

True, and by doing so they probably impeded console and games development by around 10 years.

I remember all through elementary, Jr. High and High school I was a HUGE Nintendo fan boy. And this one guy named Ace I met in Jr. High was a HUGE Sega fan boy. We would go back and forth in gym, art class, math class, where ever about which system was the best. I remember when he showed me a picture from EGM of Sonic shaking hands with Mega Man I almost sheeted my pants. lol.

Anyway, all things changed when the PlayStation came out. That was the day we joined forces.

The end.
