This is pretty much all the tracks in the game, except the select screen music, which I couldnt rip without it being completely mangled in the process.

I was going to rip both intro movies too if anyone is interested.
The file can be DLed from here

The videos are ripped, but theres a problem with playback because an unknown codec is required.

Thanks elecman x. Say, have there really been 22 DBZ Ultimate Battle games? If not, then why is it called UB 22?

Damn, I wanted to delete that post, but I don't know how.

lol Jamesman. That question is classic. The 22 in "Ultimate Battle 22" might be referring to the number of characters in the game, despite the other 5 unlockable characters. I'm not 100% sure though.

UB 22's soundtrack is great. But so is Shin Butoden's (on the Saturn), which is basically the same, but has (I think) two or more additional tracks.

"22" refers to the # of characters. When you unlock the extra 5, the title screen changes to Ultimate Battle 27.

I personally like Cell and the Ginyu force themes, they suit the characters very well, with an honorable mention for Gotenks/Goten/Trunks themes.
Although Im not sure, some of the tracks here are shared with DB Final Bout (Adult Trunks theme).
Do the tracks play ok? I didnt have time to test them on my other comp (unlike the videos).

I used to have that game. I don't know if I still have it or not. But it was okay. I never really looked into how many characters there were. But there were plenty. I kinda like Maujin Buu.^^ He's funny. I'm glad he's on the hero's side now.

Link is dead D:.
Or rather temporarily unavailable.
Which makes me sad cause i have this game sititng right next to me with DBZ legends for the PS2.
Oh god the soundtrack was so good but the same play ( rather the "beam" effects ) were so bad.

The saturn version on the other hand ;3

The only themes this shares with Final Bout are Vegeta, and Trunks themes, from what I can tell. They're played with different instruments in both games though. I own UB22, and Final Bout for PSX.

Yeah, great music, horrible gameplay. People say FB is laggy, and whatnot. At least FB is playable. UB22 doesn't respond to move inputs, the sprites look like crap, every ki move is a ball, etc...

no matter what anyone says FB terrible
3d does not always make it better xD

oh wow the link works
fucking awesome
the ginyu theme, vegeta theme, cell theme, and pretty much all the songs in the game are so awesome xD
one of the better ps1 soundtracks by far :)

Yeah, the Saturn versions of both UB22 (aka Shin Butoden) and Legends were superior to the PSone versions. Although, in the PSone version of Legends, the energy aura that surrounds you, when you raise your chi, looks much nicer when you're in motion. In the Sat. version, it looks like smoke trails.

I had the choice to get UB22 or FB and im glad I chose 22.
If you think its bad on a PS1, running the disk thru an emulator is 10 times worse. For some reason, build up mode is unstable (only the loading screens) and decides to only load half the time. That and the music comes thru distorted no matter which emu/PC/sound plugins I use (which is why there is no select screen music as I stated).
However, with the analog set to the Dpad, the moves become WAY easier to use, especially Vegeta and Goten, who i pwn ass with :D

3D streetfighter sucked too :( QCF moves in 3D? forget it

Oh... i forgot to mention all these tracks are from the PAL version, so the tracks might be slightly slower than the NSTC counterparts.

aaarg: that' s too bad that you didn't name all tracks...

I only named the tracks I KNEW the names to (or the fighters associated with them). Some fighters (16 and 18, Ginyu and Recombe, Goten Kid Trunks and Gotenks) share themes, and some fighters don't have their own music, so they use a randomly picked track (or semi random). Zarbon and Gogeta
(Vegetto... whatever, bad translation in game) are examples of this (because there are not 27 tracks in the list if you notice :D)

I'm actually going to play the game later today, So i will have the revised names posted here once I get all of them (after beating the absolute hell out of a controller to unlock the extra 5 chars).

that would be very nice if you could say me exactly what chars have their(s) own music(s) & what ones use the rest of the tracks randomly: it's a question that haunts tons of friends of mine & me for years....

thanx a lot ;)

This is the complete list of the unnamed tracks (and the ones I was unsure of). The numbers follow the STR00 numbers in the directory. The reason they are STR00-- is because this is the way they appear on the disk.
All of the names are the dubbed versions names, because using the in game names just confuses me.

03 - Goku (SSJ)
04 - Vegeta
05 - Tien, Krillin, Goten, Trunks (Kid), Supreme Kai
06 - Zarbon, Ginyu, Recoome
07 - Goku (SSJ3)
08 - Android 18
09 - Piccolo and Master Roshi
10 - Gohan
11 - Frieza, Cell and Android 16
12 - Gotenks and Great Saiyaman
13 - Majin Buu
14 - Super Buu
15 - Hercule
16 - Gogeta
17 - Trunks (Future) This track's actual name is Hikari No Willpower (according to VGMusic.com and DBFB)
18 - Goku (Kid)
25 - Ending Music (not technically a character :P)

I refuse to find out which ones play randomly because that would require every character to be paired up with every other character, and 26 X 26 is a lot of characters (the characters here were tested against themselves).

Oh, cool thanks. I recognized Vegeta, and Gohan's themes from other games.

Yeah, it's Hikari no Willpower, I have the actual song.

thanx a lot for your help

btw, don't you think - for explaining the random allocation of the mp3s - that they may be tied not to a char but... to a bg!!! ??
