I know that just about everyone that has played Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has had a lot of fun. It's already out for the Xbox 360 and PC. I've heard that it's slated for for the PS3 as well. Both of these consoles have top-notch computing power, at the moment, and can play it at the highest detail and with the fewest lags. My question is this, does anyone think a Wii release is likely (or even possible for that matter)?

No.

YES.

But really, no.

Possible? With lesser graphics, yes.
Likely? Definitley not.

It's possible to run it on a Wii...but not well enough to be enjoyable.

Bullshit.

I think there's going to be a PSP port of Oblivion, so I'm sure they could make changes and whatever need to make the Wii run it. Unless they hate Nintendo or something like my friends at RC Cola.

I seriously doubt that the wii will ever see light of day of Oblivion. Although the concept would be good indeed. But the graphics would probably suck.

Bullshit.

Ever heard of Oldblivion?
It lets you run Oblivion on ancient graphics cards.
It does this mainly by changing the pixel and vertex shaders from 2.0 to 1.1

Take a look at the GeForce 3 shots. Also note that the GeForce 3 cards were released in March of 2001, and if Nintendo is the reputable company it makes itself out to be then they'd have better methods of handling 3D renderings now than nVidia did nearly 6 years ago.

I also did a test run with a Ti4200 AGP card and it runs at 60 fps with an Athlon64 3200+ (overclocked to 2.2 GHz) and a gig of PC3200 ram running at 400 MHz. I'd provide video clips but I sold the card to get some money to get my X1900XTX card.

I've been playing the game at that quality (and lower) on my PC and it still has serious lag issues. I wouldn't have any problem with playing it like that on the Wii (barring any lag issues).

Keep in mind that your PC is not dedicated to 3D processes, whereas the Wii's hardware is dedicated to such tasks. Which is why a port is possible but not likely.

I'm well aware of Oldblivion. I had to use it when I played.

What I said buillshit to was that it wouldn't run "well enough to be enjoyable", which is... like I said... utter bullshit.

Point well taken as there are individuals who'd rather play an awesome-looking game at 2 fps or an incredibly crappy-looking game at 60 fps than go and build themselves a decent gaming rig.
