Okay, I decided to try out the tanking thing, but I'm having some serious problems with it. My A-Team is all around Level 30 and I just finished the Stilshrine of Miriam. My team is Balthier, Basch and Penelo and I decided to make Balthier my tank. I gave him the best armor, shielding and augments for that point in the game, but it doesn't seem to be working well. He still takes too much damage. Not only that, but perhaps the most aggravating thing of all --- Decoy magick seems to have an extremely tiresome tendency to simply miss. So you have to keep casting it over and over and over and over before the Lure status takes effect.

Basch is my tank. I'm not sure if all the characters develop the same way at the same levels...

Decoy is very helpful, but extremely annoying to cast. At least with gambits I don't have to do anything each time it misses.

Yeah, but my problem with it is that it screws up my other Gambits.

I am with Agent on the Decoy thing, when I started to use it as a gambit, I would miss like 7 times in a row and that means wasting MP's and time when you need the other gambits to kick in. Now I know I should re-arrange my gambits and put Decoy last, but still because of the high miss rate, thats still wasted MP's. I know this is because of the Magic Resistance that your tank has but for now, I am going without Decoy.

u gotta make sure ur tank has the best shield available so u can block a good amount of the damage and make sure u select the augments that help u block with a shield. also protect isnt a bad idea either.

Well thank you for telling me pretty much everything I already knew and pretty much already indicated I was doing, except in some of the most awful grammar and spelling I've ever seen. I would expect nothing less from someone with the username forevercloud.

Anyway you may have already tried this but have Basch's gambits strictly for healing and have Penelo's for the Decoy magick. I would expect this to work but I never really did have a tank in my party so you never know.

Well, I suppose I could try it, but I'm not sure I care enough. I'm not sure if the benefit is great enough to really be bothered with a tank.

I never cared to do it. Too much effort for something that is pretty much simple.

I see no problem with Agent's use of commas. He has simply made subordinate clauses within his main clauses. Your grammar however is ridiculous. For a start, all references to yourself, i.e. "I", should be capitalised. Secondly, you you should be using commas, for example:

"by the way nice use of commas. don't correct my grammar until you learn some yourself."

should read:

"By the way, nice use of commas. Don't correct my grammar until you have learnt some yourself."

Try capitalising after full stops as well. Oh and capitalise proper nouns such as Final Fantasy and people's names or screen names. Such as Agent, not agent.

Finally, I suggest looking at a members join date and post count, and current admin rank before you start throwing stuff back at them. You generally don't go around spouting crap like you do to the leaders of your country, so why do it to a forum leader?

Agent pretty much hit it straight on. It is not like this kid has any potential for a fighting chance here. Yet, he is actually defending what he believes in, even if it is a crappy moral to begin with. While Sain, intentionally does things to snag attention.

Agreed. Though I'm not familiar with Sain (I am relatively new), I can't help but think that there's a lesson to be learned here.

Normally I try to avoid piping in on threads like this, but damn, if forevercloud has a problem with Agent's use of commas then I have to rethink my formal education in English Literature. A general rule of thumb for noobs to the English language is that every time you take a breath (yes, every time is two words), you use a comma. [from Wikipedia: the word "comma" comes directly from the Greek komma (κόμμα), which means "something cut off" or "a short clause." which is exactly how Agent used the word]

Personally, I would love for you to continue your rant and pull Prak into this conversation - if you think you're getting reamed now, give it some time - not only will Prak teach you the intricacies of the English language, you will be efficiently schooled on how to kiss some ass, which of course is a task you'll be obligated to perform. If you truly wish to play a valuable part in these forums (this coming from a relatively new participant) then continue attacking the grammar of people that you know nothing about and we will continue to correct you in every aspect imaginable.
