Haha, I believe it... There was a Chinese graphic novel made a long time ago called "The Legend of Wind and Cloud" that focused around two brothers named Wind and Cloud. The biggest difference between Nomura's characters would be that they'd get slaughtered by the novel's guys in like one hit.

Oh, and the lead in FF versus XIII is going to named Storm. Hopefully, with no relation to Storm from X-Men.

Kinda makes one wonder if there are any other code names assigned to other characters like "Thunder" or "Breeze"... If I were in charge, I'd have a group of bad asses (be they good or evil) that had the 4 names of havoc; Tornado, Earthquake, Flood, and Maelstrom! :-P

The default title for someone who has posted more than 10 or so posts but less than 50, or mayby 100, who hasn't made a custom title, is Onion Kid. Most who bear that title have simply not gone back to their profiles to change it. At this forum you start out able to set your own title, before you even make your first post.

As for the chick's appearance. I think, after having made each successive male lead, since cloud, look progressively more effeminate, the decision to make "Lightning" a female was passed from up top after seeing what the drawings looked like, and someone sayiing, "I pity that boy if he's not gay... I wonder what fag drew him?"

To save face, the designer would have had no choice but to say, "Well actually, he's a she," then proceed to mumble unders his breath, "well, back to the drawing board." This is however an opinion that is more guided by my sense of humor than my sense of how things are, and is most definitely subject to bias.

Cloud was his real name. But we've been told by S-E that Lightning is just a code name for her in the game. My guess is that she'll be some kind of Terra (Tina) character controlled by an evil empire... and they will have given her the name Lightning or something like that.

As for Lightning`s design I think that she`s really, really cute, at first I thought that her face is so-so, but when I saw that extended trailer and how she winked when she saw Mr.33 I realized how cute she is!
The name sounds good, I was a bit disappointed when I heard that it`s only a code name, I think that those names created from nature elements are suiting FF characters very well.
Back to the design I think that her legs looks a bit too thin below the knee, but I like her arms and bust very much [although not much is seen yet *gives a kinky glance*].

Tifa is the best FF girl (her and rikku) and I don't agree that lightning should be more feminine looking after all she's not there to look cute she's there to kick ass right and it's usually the side kick that's cute right. (I don't think she's ugly)

�- While designing Final Fantasy VII, they were indecisive about how spiky to make Cloud�s hair.
- Since people are more used to the beautiful CGs of FF characters, Nomura prefers his own artworks to not be shown out in the open too often and thinks that the Final Fantasy illustrations done by Yoshiyuki Amano are what people prefer to see.

Hmmm...she's not sweet and strict to herself. I'm getting Squall popping into my head more so than Cloud :P I suppose it is entirely different being that this time round it's a female lead, she seems pretty cool so far.
