This poem is about an affair I had with a married older woman, I never saw myself doing such a thing but she was the only woman I ever loved. One of those "If only a met you sooner" kind of deals. Anyway, I wrote this around the time we broke it off, I just wanted to share.

Ring Finger

The metal clasped around your finger
A simple reminder
Of your keeper
A request that I do linger
in your
Heart

This binding I alone know and hold
My newest regret
Yet to be told

A poor man's ring that would sing at your door
Your secret unexplored
Hidden into the heat of your palm
Maybe even quickly worn.. not for long
Hurried away from the crack of an open door
Buried in your jewelry box
Resting on the bottom oak floor

You don't need to wear it
You already said
I do
I wish I could have given it to you

That was actually quite good. I enjoyed reading that one. Keep writing!
