A while ago, i acquired a cheat disc from a mate.
You know, the usual.
Full stats, everyone L.100, all GF's, magic and whatnot..
It gave me some really wierd magic which i can't say i've ever seen in the game before..

Examples:
-GF Magic [i.e. Cerberus, Pandemona, etc] - When i use this magic, nothing happens.. the charact just motions as if they are using magic, but nothing happens.. and the character just pauses in the stance and i have to reset the damn thing.

-The End [Instant Win] - I've never seen this magic before, but it's awesome.. it even works on bosses.. hehe.. Ultimecia goooone with one hit..

-Catastrophe [9999 damage] - Just a really little explosion.. lots of damage..

These are just some of them..

I was wondering..
If these are actually part of the game..
Or is it just like some whacky mod some bored bugger has whipped up..
Yeaah..

cool.. i think there what some one has made up but i dunno. GF magic??? does the GF do the stance thing or a person?
oh and that catastrophe may set off the worlds smallest nuclear explosion (anyone that knows mkd (not mortal kombat deception btw) will know this thing) lol
What else is there on it, people say cheats never prosper but cheats are fun in this case

Games, especially FFVIII, have a tendency of fucking up if you use cheats. Another example is when you cheat Seifer and/or Edea in to your party, there are a number of things that can freeze your game (climbing ladders, fighting one of those characters in the storyline, etc.)

This is Selphie's ultimate Slot magic. It works on all enemies except undead ones.

Never heard of this one before

Catastrophe has different names in different versions, mines called Apocalypse, basically it's a magic that when junctioned to any stat raises it to max, regardless of the number of magic you have.

I would suggest not using the GF magic if it's locking your game, just get rid of it and use the GF command.

Also, The End is brilliant against bosses like Omega Weapon. I had the luck of getting it with slot. Thought, wtf is this? 1 use? that's crap, ah well use it anyway. Goodbye Omega :O

Apocalypse

I was going to mention this. I used to have a Piggyback official guide and there was one screen shot taken over the junction menu where apocalypse was selectable from the magics list. The only time I can work out it being available is from Ultimecia right at the end of the game, but drawing it is pointless as once she's beaten the game is finished. So why the need to include it in the menu system? There's definately a slot for it, wouldn't that indicate that it's obtainable some where else in the game?

Just checked at gamefaqs:

"The Apocalypse magic can be drawn from Ultimecia's final form at the end of the game, however, the only way to get this magic before this point is to use a "cheats cd" such as the Xplorer or Xploder to unlock all magic in the game."

I used the Debug Room to get the Apocalypse magic to 100. It doesn't raise the stats of whatever you junction it to to MAX. I tried and Ultima still is better when it comes to junctioning magic.

And for having Seifer and/or Edea in your party; the only time it will freeze (I played the whole game with them in my party) is if there's a cut scene. Otherwise, it's pretty much fine. And I have yet to find out how to get The End in my magic inventory!

I don't understand, why include it as a magic that CAN be junctioned when realistically (without the use of third party cheat discs) it is unobtainable? It does not make sense.

Because it's still a spell. You just don't (normally) get a chance to junction it. It's most likely easier to program it that way, rather than having to program new "rules" for it, when a signifigant minority of players won't even see the spell.

Just tried the Apocalypse thing again, defintely raises stats to max. I suppose it would depend on your level though.... I was at level 50 at the time.... with Zell at level 14 for some reason.

Due to the fact that it can be drawn. The penny has dropped. Thank you.
