It has come to my attention that there is an ff12 collectors edition. i searched this forum and found that people were talking about some picture that you can get from it. i was just wondering if there is any difference in gameplay compared to the normal one which i currently own?

Yeah, I heard about this. Apparently it has like some bonus art and stuff like that and it's only like about $10 more than the regular version, I think. In retrospect, I wish I had bought it. As far as I know, though, the gameplay is exactly the same.

It comes with a bonus disk with a lot of art, and some trailers on it. The coolest part is the box though. It's metal and stylish. :O

I suppose a "true fan" would own both versions. Maybe I'll buy it sometime if I can get a good deal and I have some spare cash...

I thought my favorite part was going to be the Final Fantasy through the ages. But I think they could of done a lot more with that....and introduce the whole story and the characters.

:) In other words, it's a DVD and therefore it doesn't matter what you stick into basically, as long as you don't stick into your Walkman or something.

Indeed - the bonus disc is a "movie" DVD with some featurettes - it does have a nice history of FF with video clips, very retrospective and some very interesting interviews with some of the designers (graphics, battle system, audio, etc.). I had to pre-order the collector's edition from EB Games (Electronics Boutique) in Canada, but I know there's also a U.S. counter-part to EB, just not sure what they're called.

As Eddy Gein mentioned, the two discs are layered on top of each other in a very slick metal case - well worth the extra price. I'll see if I can find a pic to link to somewhere...one sec...here we go:

It's a very slim case - nice and slick - when you open it the two discs are on top of each other (if that makes sense)...right below the case pic in the link you'll see a gray bar with ratings (ESRB) then there's another pic of the inside of the case you can click on that enlarges it - decent representation, though ebay probably has the whole works even bigger...here we go:

Meanwhile the CE of the Game already dropped to the price of the normal game, I got it a EB Games too. It's the same store here as in Canada.
A partner is Gamestop, it's like the same store and they have it here everywhere.

There's a CE of the Strategy Guide as well, includes a nice Artwork book. Is about 10 dollar more, than the normal Guide, but for me it was worth the money.
