I'm not sure if there's different types of rainy situation cos it requires a heavy downpour for it to appear right? But all the rain situations look the same no matter how many times i get in and out of the map. After I killed all the tortoise lurking there it didn't appear too..is there a way to make it appear?

Have you tried simply exiting and reentering? Have you tried waiting for it to turn back to dry and then try again? When I did it, he wasn't there at first, but I exited and reentered and bam, there he was.

you gotta go back and forth a bunch of times. don't worry about walking far into the area. when the gil snapper is there the game will go into a cut screen upon entering the area and the other hunter will tell you it's time to get the mark.

I think you have to kill all the pre existing turtles.

you don't have to do anything with the turtles, but if your there you might as well kill them for some nice experiance pts.

It took quite a while for me before the Gil Snapper appeared. I went through the area wiping out the tortoises the first few times, but I don't think it was necessary. In the end I just kept entering and exiting, then like Kilgoretrout said, there was a cut scene right away so don't worry about exploring the area - if the Gil Snapper is there, you'll know it as soon as you enter.

Alright thanks~ oh ya..another question..I reached a point where reddas will join me as a guest if I talk to the pirates(Haven't done so yet)..if I let him join..will he leave anytime soon or till the end of the game? I hate guests..they always screw up my gambits.

he stays, i am at that point and am a bit upset about it, i'm going to have to beat the game and return do do things without him. but, if you want to have some "control" over a guest, cast haste and berzerk on them to turn them into HP crushing machines.

You mean after you defeated vayne and completed the game you can still play on after that (after credits)? Will a save prompt be up after the final boss fight?

actually, i'm not positive that you can play on after vayne, but i'm sure you can cause others say they are going to do that and also most ff games let you continue on after beating the game. can anyone actually attest to what happens after you beat the game?

Actually, most other FF games don't let you continue on after beating the game. With the exception of FFX-2, which has "New Game Plus," once you beat the final boss, that's it. You get the closing credits and so long. If there's any sort of New Game Plus or anything like that on this game, I'd be very interested to know about that.


And I'll say it again --- I didn't really have much trouble at all getting the Gil Snapper to show up once I knew where he was.

thinking back, you're right, i used to keep an open save game file to finish the game after beating it. so now, i'm really pissed cause if it ends with reddes in my party than i'm screwed. and if the final boss fight has reddes i'll be even more upset cause he hasn't been a part of the story at all. (well, i guess he would be the male version of penelo a.k.a. miss not neccessary except to have two even parties of 3)

It's certainly... odd. I'm not really sure, but I think I may be close to beating the game. I don't think I want to hear anymore about it. I'm just gonna play some more tonight and see where I get.

Reddas DOES leave. The game finishes with just your core party. Not to spoil anything, but after the Pharos, he'll be gone.
