Ok, I'm aware that the answers to my questions are most likely pretty obvious, but I'm having a hard time understanding what's going on and would appreciate it if someone would humor me...

***POSSIBLE SPOILER INFO*** (I think...?)

In the actual game, FFVII, did Cloud ever fully understand/realize that all his flashbacks/blackouts were the result of being exposed to a high concentraion of condensed mako and that they were really his friend, Zack's memories?
The reason I was wondering is in the movie, although Cloud has Geostigma like a lot of other people, he seems to be the only one still suffering from these mental spasms. Does he realize now that he's not Zack although he still obviously has this problem?

Also, in the game during their stay in Kalm, when Cloud's telling about his experiences as a First Class SOLDIER, why doesn't Tifa say anything? She knows that Cloud wasn't a First Class SOLDIER and that it was Zack who was standing with her in the picture of her and Sephiroth, right?

Would really appreciate the help!!!

Now that you said about Tifa thing in Kalm, I'm curious about that she didn't say anything...

Nah... Remember in Disc 2 when Cloud and Tifa plunge into the lifestream? They work out their problems there and it's also there where Tifa is like "Clould, you did keep your promise and come to save me." For some reason, she suffered a bit of amnesia from that night when all went to hell in Neibelheim.

I dunno about you, but if I saw my home town burn in front of me, my parents slaughtered, and suffer a huge slash by a 7-foot terrifying murasame blade, and the person who I thought was an ultra bad ass good guy go nuts and be the reason for all of the above, I'd probably repress that memory too so I won't wake up every night in a pool of my own bodily fluids. You know, for the sake of traumatic reasons... But hey, that's just me...

And yes, after the lifestream incident, Cloud is in the Highwind meeting room explaining to everyone that his story of "on that day, 5 years ago..." was not his memories.

In FFVII AC, he's also aware of this, but I believe that Square-Enix put that in there for the sake of "hey, remember when" (to all of the FFVII fans), or to clue in newbie FFVII people what's going on. Either way, Cloud was aware that he was not Zack.
