ok, hey, everyone who likes music likes making mix cd's right. so this is the thread where you make them for people, listen to them, comment on them ETC.

yeah i was waiting for a track do download last night and just kind of started putting stuff into a playlsit. it was pretty ON THE FLY as it were. or something like that. anyways i think it might all get a bit wonky towards the end. and i guess this one is mostly for lewis because he puts up with a lot of boring crap from me and a mix cd is clearly the only way to show him i want him to be my wife, right. but everyone else can listen to. ^~ tell me what you think. also i would really like to hear some mix cd's! so yeah!

track list:

01 CDOASS - Speak To Me
02 Professor Murder - Free Stress Test
03 The Rapture - Ollo
04 Xiu Xiu - I Luv the Valley Oh
05 The Shins - New Slang
06 Broken Social Scene - Anthems for a Seventeen Year-Old Girl
07 Liars - Loose Nute on the Velodrome
08 Sleater-Kinney - The Fox
09 Brakes - All Night Disco Party
10 Jeffrey Lewis - No LSD Tonight
11 Guided by Voices - I am a Scientist
12 Loney, Dear - I am John
13 Stereolab - Freestyle Dumping
14 Love Is All - Make out, Fall out, Make up
15 Billy Joel - Uptown Girl
16 Saturday Looks Good to Me - Meet Me By the Water
17 The Magnetic Fields - When my Boy Walks Down the Street
18 The Silver Jews - There Is a Place.

the billy joel track is an mpeg4 for... some reason.

anyways here's the link of course (http://riviera.nuigalway.ie/~duo/lewis.zip)

so. let's make some... creative arrangements of... music!

OK Duo, let's see!

CDOASS - Speak To Me - Haha, this song was mental. It's pretty good if you don't have a headache. Either way, liked it.

Professor Murder - Free Stress Test - Pretty weird. This generally isn't the sort of stuff I listen to but I really like some parts of it (yeah it seems to have loads of parts)...

Shit I have to go now. I'll do the rest like..tomorrow or something

The Rapture - Olio - Yeah, I love this song anyway. Over and over and over again!

Xiu Xiu - I Luv The Valley Oh - I don't know anything about this band, but they remind me vocally of like either Joy Division or some sort of Mod-esque 80's band, haha. ...Oh, wtf. The vocals changed!_! I really like this part James (around 2:10 onwards) which I'm assuming is an outro. It sounds pretty nice.

The Shins - New Slang - This sounds nice. It kinda just stayed nice..didn't really do much for me D:

Broken Social Scene - Anthems for a Seventeen Year-Old Girl - This is pretty weird! But I like it. I have always wanted to get into this band, but I haven't heard much. Lastfm are all "FUCKING RECOMMEND >:O".

..Gtg again :(

Liars - Loose Nute on the Velodrome - This sounds (bar vocals) like a lot of my music all in one, haha. This was a pretty insane 2 minutes. Not sure if I liked these vocals though!

Sleater-Kinney - The Fox - Haha, what a song. Insane (Duo you are INSANE). Quite liked it, but it's really not the sort of thing I go for!

Brakes - All Night Disco Party - This is pretty funky. I never listen to this sort of stuff, ever. I think it all sounds too samey, but this was okay.

Jeffrey Lewis - No LSD Tonight - Lol, this song is neat. Again, not something I normally listen to, but it was fun!

Guided by Voices - I am a Scientist - Love the intro. The rest of the song was nice. Went a bit weird, the guitar sounded out of tune (which I am assuming was intended, haha!)

Loney, Dear - I am John - This is probably one of my favourites on the CD. It's pretty damn awesome! Love how it picks up tempo and volume just before 2 mins.

Stereolab - Freestyle Dumping - Another weird but neat intro. This is one of my favourites also, it turns out.

Love Is All - Make out, Fall out, Make up - This was okay!

Billy Joel - Uptown Gir - Love this song anyway. Stupid Westlife -_-

Saturday Looks Good to Me - Meet Me By the Water - Awesome intro again. The sax in this song is win! One of my other favourites!

The Magnetic Fields - When my Boy Walks Down the Street - Was okay, again. There has not been one song on here I've disliked though ;o

The Silver Jews - There Is a Place. - My other favourite song. It flows so awesomely I just want to have sex with whoever wrote+mixed this.

James! Thank you for this CD and anyone else should check it out, I think there is more or less something for everyone on here.

I will get one done over the next few days.

If anyone's interested, I could put together an EP of some of Grace's rarest tracks. When I mean rare, I do mean RARE. I've managed to scramble together a couple of rare songs from various of TV shows/soundtracks she recorded the theme songs to. Just let me know if you're curious, and I will provide a link. Come on! I dare you to try something completely unique.

Songs included on EP:

1. Let Joy and Innocence Prevail (Instrumental) - From the movie 'Toys'.
2. Storm - From the movie 'The Avengers'.
3. Love Bites - From the TV show 'Fright Night'.
4. The Perfect Crime - From the TV show 'The Perfect Crime'.
5. Let Joy and Innocence Prevail - From the movie 'Toys'.

Im gonna upload a rock or w/e mix I have on an mp3. Its an old CD, but there are some good songs on it. I was going to put more on it, hence the crazy numbering it may come with, but I never got around to it. So some go from 6 to 8 for example because I had a certain order everything was going to go in.
I just didn't download them in that order.

Heres the list.

Iron Maiden - The Flight of Icarus
Led Zeppelin - The Immigrant Song
Slipknot - Circle
The Smashing Pumpkins - Today
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free Bird
Neil Young - Southern Man
Pink Floyd - Wish you Were Here
Goo Goo Dolls - Iris
I forget the artist right now - Rocky Mountain Way
Rob Zombie - Super Beast
Pantera - Planet Caravan
Nazareth - This Flight Tonight
Bush - Glycerine
SOAD - Aerials
Led Zeppelin - Kashmir
The Tea Party - The River
Nirvanna - You Know Your Right
Live(?) - Lightning Crashes
Steve Miller Band - Winter Time
The Smashing Pumpkins - Disarm
Ozzy - Back on Earth
Terry Reid - Seed of Memory
Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven(I know, but I used to like it)

Also; How do I upload the whole CD at once? Ive never used sendspace before, and all the songs I uploaded so far are each separate, lol.
