Likewise indeed! Btw, I remember hearing the "Mission Complete" theme in MS5 but I don't see it in the list. Can you fix this problem do ya think sigma62? I know it isn't neccessary but I would like the have the "Mission Complete" MS5 theme though if you know what I mean sigma62. :D heh heh If you can't then I understand though. :)

I agree with ya for I think the MS5 music is better than the MS6 music as well. :D heh heh Yet I still don't know who made the music but I've always wondered who played the voice in the music in the song called 05 stage 2 part2 of MS5 indeed for it sounds really nice indeed. :D heh heh heh

The composer for MS 4, MS 5 & MS 3D is Toshikazu Tanaka, formerly known as Tarkun when he was at SNK in the late 80's, and as Dencyu (Denchu) when he was at Atlus in the 90's. The one who wrote the music for MS6 is Manabu Namiki (Basiscape).
BTW, this one is a game rip and a very incomplete one. Here's the tracklist for the official release:

Metal Slug 5 Original Sound Track
Noise Factory (NF-0003)
01 The Military System (Dencyu's Arrange Version) 0:51
02 Sortie! 0:24
03 Heavy African 3:27
04 Ruins Excavation 3:21
05 Windy Day 3:22
06 Zoom Down 3:41
07 Intrigue 3:22
08 Run Through 1:56
09 Bottom of the Sea 3:33
10 Speeder 4:03
11 Lastditch Resistance 3:16
12 Fierce Battle 2:42
13 Final Attack (Dencyu's Arrange Version) 3:14
14 Carry Out (Dencyu's Arrange Version) 0:09
15 Road to Success 2:03
16 Gravestone (Dencyu's Arrange Version) 0:08

it was also re-released as Disc 6 in the Metal Slug Complete Sound Box which has the complete soundtracks from MS1 to MS 3D (unfortunately, they didn't include the home versions).

I can't help but notice that some of you know very little about the MS series. Here's a brief story of it and its music:

It begins at irem where the game GunForce was produced. It had a decent success, which led to a sequel. Due to the problems that the original irem faced at the moment, the game had little distribution. The team responsible for the game formed their own company called Nazca and produced some games for the NeoGeo. They developed Metal Slug using some elements from GunForce II such as vehicles, power up (like the heavy machine gun an rocket launcher) and hostage rescue. They also used the now famous yell when you killed one of Morden's soldier's. The music was written by HIYA!, and JIM which had written music for Super R-Type and Undercover Cops.

The game was a huge success but the company was weak, SNK absorbed most of the staff to continue with the series. Some may say that the games got all wacky and kind of dull during the SNK period. During this time, the Shinsekai (SNK's sound team) made the music. Even though the Shinsekai made wonderful music for the fighting games, they never managed to surpass HIYA! an JIM's work, most of it are renditions of the original score.

When SNK went bankrupt, the Korean MEGA and Japan's Noise Factory developed MS 4. They used Noise Factory's musician Toshikzu Tanaka to develop the music. Tanaka, instead of using the sound chip to generate the music, used the chip to playback the music. He recorded the music and then sampled it to the NeoGeo. Also, he wrote completly new music for it instead of just recycling the whole score of the previous games.
For MS 5, the newly formed Playmore let Noise Factory to develop it. Once more the same team for MS4 was at charge, including Tanaka.

SNK Playmore and Noise Factory broke the partnership when SNKP started to use Sammy/Sega Atomiswave system. SNKP developed alone MS6 for this system. They hired musicians from the Basiscape studio. They made the same mistake the Shinsekai did, they only made renditions to the score of the original game.

A group of pirate hackers, released a hack of MS3 called Metal Slug 6. This game is nothing but a booby trap for those who wanted MS6 at the arcades and had no idea that the original was for a completely different system. The Atomiswave has a Hardware similar to the Dreamcast.

Realizing what a mistake was to hire Basiscape musicians, they re-hired Tanaka for MS 3D for the PS2, once more, he did an excellent job. The next installment of the series, Metal Slug 7, will be released for the Nintendo DS exclusively, so far, there hasn't been any announcements for who will be in charge of the music.
