Are there any other Shenmue fans here at the shrine? I love the original and I just placed my order for Shenmue II at ncsx. I know this may be considered sacrilege around here, but I personally liked it better than FF 8 or 9. Well, just post your thoughts on the series here.

Im with you on that one Shemue 0wnz... Cant agree with it being better than FF8 but I definetly got more fun out of it than I did 9 and I own the European Shenmue2 its awesome... but if you have an X Box allow me to say *cough* Satan! *cough* because that is the only system it will release on in the states. Although if your not in the States its not a prob lol

Shenmue was a fun ride. Shenmue 2 was a lot better becuase Yu Suzuki decided to pick up the pace and compress the story. The story took a real intresting turn at the end of Shenmue 2, and I can't wait for #3.

shenmue was a really fun game im still waiting for 2 but it is better then ff9 maybe ff8 i liked working on the lift and then buying the action figures in the gumball machine

I own Shenumue, and havn't played it much. I started a file, and got to the Jamaican Hot Dog seller, that's as far as I've gotten. I then realised it took up more then half of my memory space, and decided to delete it.

I thought it was alright, but there are fighting parts, yesh? Also, I can't say the voice acting is the best...

The first one was very short, but pretty fun.
I still havn't got the second one yet.

Yeah, there are some GREAT fights. And yes, the voice acting is terrible in places. But don't worry, Shenmue II is not dubbed in
English, just subbed.

I didn't like it. Too much talking. Not enough action. Sure, there was an occasional scrap, or the odd "Press a button combination quickly!" O_O; but, I felt pretty bored the whole way through it. Great graphics, Great story, Boring gameplay, short lifespan.

I loved it when you got the job as the fork lift operator. Something about it was fun....
Apart from the race, that was annoing.

I love shenmue iam still waitin on #2 i wish shenmue two come out on ps2

I played the first one. It was a REALLY awesome game!:D Definately better than FFVIII but its not as good as FFIX. I won't be getting Shenmue II though.:Sad: I wish it would come out on PS2. I hate that d*** X-box. Its stealing tons of games from PS2!
