Since they only had basketball, it kinda sucked, but the experience was still pretty nice. First off, I noticed that the controller is basically the same, but with the L2 and R2 buttons basically being trigger buttons, that was pretty comfortable actually. When I was playing the game, the motion capture shit they put in there made the game much more intense, and locked you into the game more.

Example would be that you have to turn your controller clockwise to to a spinning move with your basketball player. With the motion sensor, and the ultra realistic graphics, it kinda made me feel like I was really playing basketball. I know that the PS3 doesn't even come close to the Wii when it comes to that motion sensor stuff, but it was still pretty cool, because it felt like there was a balance.

And the graphics, I'm sure all of you PS3 fanboys are gonna be wondering about the graphics. Yes, on HDTV, they look really good. The 360 doesn't even compare when it comes to grahpics. But for $600, I can get a PC with just as good of graphics, and not have to worry about getting my head blown off. Graphics aren't everything, I think we've established that with a couple of FF games.

My final verdict is that yes, the PS3 was fun. Am I going to buy it right away? Hell no! Like I said, I can get a PC with graphics just as good, and not have to worry about making it safely to my car. Also, the PS3 just came out, there aren't gonna be that many games for it yet. And also consider that buying a TV is almost required for a next gen sytem. So am I going to rush out and buy a 360, a PS3, or a Wii? There are too many games I've yet to sit down and play on XBox,PS2 and GameCube, and I've got a lot of time to play these games while waiting for the prices to drop. So no, I'll be happy to wait a couple of years.

Not from what I could see. There was no vibrating feature or anything like that.

Not at all. To truly experience the PS3 and all its potential, you need to buy an incredibly large television, make sure it has 1080p+++, and costs between $5000-7000.

However, 15" may be about perfect size for use with a Wii. Anything bigger than that confuses the Wiimote/Sensor Bar. But that's okay, because nobody that Nintendo market to have big TV's.

Cut the crap already. I have a big TV, and I have a Wii. And the Wii-mote works just fine on it.

Go speak your bullshit somewhere else.

How big is your big? Because my big is 62", and I have an area roughly 1/3 the size of the TV in the center of the screen where I can aim and move my Wiimote, and if I aim outside THAT area? It freaks out and I lose my Wiimote Pointer Hand Icon thing.

Mine is 46" and everything works just fine. Just so you know, there is a place inside the Wii menus that let you caliber your sensor bar. I would suggest you do that.

Nazi Cinnamon Spider
12-19-2007, 02:35 AM
Yup, I've gone through and done that.
Currently, the only way to get full Wiimote access to all areas of my TV is to use tea candles - an unacceptable solution.

Tea candles...? What, are they candles you put in your tea?

Tea Candles are little candles in a foil tray, about the size of a cookie or something, I dunno. But they're small and compact, burn for about six hours and if you put one on either end of your TV they're far better than the sensor bar. But I figured, I'm already paying for AA batteries, I'm not going to pay for candles every time I wanna play :P

Mr E. Stalker
12-20-2007, 02:19 AM
OH those. Do you have to light them first, and how'd you find out they were better then your sensor bar?

Nazi Cinnamon Spider
12-20-2007, 02:24 AM
Yeah, you light them. All the sensor bar does is give the Wiimote two points of Infrared light to calibrate to. Which is why the Wiimote's movement is really all realtive to the sensor bar and not to the actual TV. Candles have a flame. Flame emits infrared light.
But yeah, it's not a cheap alternative, so my Wii gets no love.

Nazi Cinnamon Spider

Because fire = IR light, naturally. And with candles, you can put them anywhere you like, as far from each other as they need to be.

I personally never found anything wrong with PS3s. They're worth the money to me, but I don't have that money XD

It doesn't really matter what kind of TV you have, it's all down to you. If you think that playing games on a huge 42 inch LCD screen makes them better, fair enough. I play my Wii on quite a small TV and my sister's PS3 on one not that much bigger, and it's still all the same to me.
