Thanks a lot Jack, good stuff here.

The soundtrack was great, and so was the game.

Updated version posted.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/g8zgd9

I took the freedom, to change some of the track names. For example:
Okhotsk Intro Cinematic - 360 is changed to: The Tanker in Okhotsk. In short i changed some track names, to how it probably would be, if Ubi Soft released a CD with the soundtrack

any chance of a complete game rip x360/PS2 ?
the behaviour tracks are edited/cutted and still far away from completition...
would be ... GREAT

There's a few new tracks up

http://www.behaviormusic.com/artists/michael_mccann/music.htm

Full themes for Iceland, New York, HQ, and Okhotsk, and a few other misc tracks including the Jail Fight Theme ! (blows you away).
Check down the page a bit...

Shame no one has still found out a way to do a proper full rip of this Jewel of a Soundtrack

I rather want to wait for the composer to release thier tracks instead of a rip. That means better sound quialty, and there's some added stuff sometimes too.

The PC version uses a 1GIG SS0 file of all the music tracks. Cant rip it though.

The PC version uses a 1GIG SS0 file of all the music tracks. Cant rip it though.

I know, I think it s because the game uses some kind of a special audio engine , I think it s callled "dare audio engine" or something, I v been trying myself to extract some music out of that huge SSO file with a number of Apps. and Programs but no way.
the strange thing is that "chaos theory" uses also this SSO files and has been succesfully ripped in the past.

as for the composer, i doubt he will ever upload everything, he just adds a few tracks every couple of months but jeah, maybe in another three years we ll finally have it...

LOL by the time we have the full OST conviction will be out. then we will have to wrack our heads on trying to rip that. "sigh" why does ubisoft make it so hard?

Chaos Theory's OST was easy to rip because it was OGG files with different endings.(SSO)

All you had to do was rename the extensions to .OGG and there was your soundtrack. :)

just out of curiosity, how about the PS2 Version?
as it comes from another developer studios (Montreal - who also did C.T.)) it may be using a totally different coding process for the music data.
I don t have a clue on PS2 music rip but I see here on these forums there is plenty of it going on so I m just wondering why the hell there is no SCDA PS2 full rip yet ?

OrangeC

Hmm i may just try the PS2 version.

Bump!

The PS2 version of the music file is called: STREAM.SS1. Now what i have noticed is that ubisofts audio files for the games uses a numbering sequence like (SS0,SS1,SS4,SS5) Not sure if there is SS2 or 3 but im wondering if it could mean something?

Also i HEX'ed it and there appears to be no header present. maybe is that it?

Also i loaded the file into goldwave and managed to hear some music but it is either too fast or too slow. The music that i managed to hear was some crappy rap song that was real slow. But anyway my theory is that these SS files can be playing at a diffrent sample rate or frequency and that a proper header has to be placed in order for the file to be played right.

If someoen can please help me with this than we may be able to rip the other ubisoft games.

Thank you for the investigation, I can t really help though sadly, . have you tried to scan these SS files with the Dragon Unpacker Hyper Ripper ? It can search and extract a number of music Format out of an unknown file
sample rate or frequency can be tweaked in several music programs such as cubase, fruitiy, soundforge ..
by the way, don t forget there is also a normal xbox version =)

OrangeC

Yes i have tried and it appears these type SS files are a type of stream, not an archive.

I also tried to change the frequency temp, anythign that had to do with speed but still nothing.
