I don't think this character is all that important... it's not like square enix is going to do anything else for ff7 (except maybe that compilation thing I keep hearing about). I ignored it, and accepted the fact that it's a happy ending for vincent.

The reason why it is so short is because the guys at Square Enix do not want to give a lot away. Yes he is Genesis and that secret ending is meant to be a cliff hanger to keep you guessing until they finally release something that pertains to that character. As for his importance, he is quite important because there is the possibilty that he is the one behind Deepground.

This is the way I see it:

1) Genesis is the older brother to Sephiroth
2) He is stronger than Sephiroth (because he was buried under ground hidden probably out of fear)
3) Him and Sephiroth are going to form into some giant bad ass creature with 2 wings

Things I know:

1) Genesis is in before crisis
2) He was refering to Sephiroth when he said "it is not yet time for slumber" you see Weiss had become one with Omega so G was planing on using him to revive Sephiroth.(actually this is more a theory)

I think Genesis is supposed to be expanded upon in Crisis Core for the PSP. This is their way of linking all the Compilation games. Let's just home that Crisis Core is a winner, and not like DoC!

My theory on G is this he was the protype for the Sephiroth program. They injected him with Jenova in a Large scale he is one of ones that Surived the injection maybe the only one. But he couldn't control his powers and this they sealed him up to prevent him from going beserk and destroying everything. They then decided to use an Unborn child who would have a better chance of Mutating in a Helpful way.

Someone born with the Ability is natural going to be better at it then someone given it. G probably couldn't control it at first but as time went on he slowly mastered it till he is what he is now. At least that is what I think G is and why he was sealed and now out.

My theory on G is that he is a supreme being that Square can have handy so they can make a final fantasy 7: dirge of cerberus 2.

Personally, I believe that Genesis (G) is a bad ass, yet he seems alot more sane than Sephiroth. think about it: Sephiroth went crazy and made almost no sense in the beginning, yet Genesis is calm, collective, and awesomly well dressed. must have trenchcoat of G!!!! ok, ranting done lol

He is Gackt . . . a popular Japanese artist who used to be in the popular band, Malice Mizer.

Genesis ... if they make a ff 7 - 2 then it might work but a nother doc i dont think even i could handle that and i half way liked this game ... though the game play realy sucked the story was ok and i liked how it explaned some of his past allthough the ending kind of worried me Genesis was a cool toss in ending but if they are going to make another ff7 game then it eneds to return to the old game play a rpg basic and not a devil may cry rip off

Genesis' character design is based on Gackt's appearance. Gackt also does his voice.

Genesis is cool... The coolest thing I found about him is that he`s so elegant... And that whole "Loveless" idea is just awsome!

When talking about DoC Genesis I think that it would be cool if there will be a game released for him as a main playable character.
