Ok, well we've all heard of the Rinoa is Ultimecia theory, well I have some new ones!

Ok, I know Rinoa isn't Ultimecia, if anything she would be Adel, because there would have had to be some other connection between Rinoa and Adel for Adel to have attempted to fuse with her.

Instead, I think Ellone is really Ultimecia.

Reasons for this;

Ellone and Ultimecia both talk about turning back the past in the game.

Ultimecia has Griever, Griever has a connection with Squall, Squall has a connection with Ellone (more on this later). Griever could have been a GF Squall found when he was a boy, that he the gave to Ellone when she left to be with SeeD.

Ellone looks more like Ultimecia then Rinoa, IMO.

Now, I also think that Ellone might be Edea and Cid's daughter. Think about it, Edea and Cid have a kid, they get the idea to make guarden, abandon their kid, later Edea comes back to get her, then leaves again. But this time to get Ellone, this also might be the reason she is tranfereed from Garden to Garden so much.

Also, her being a sorcerous might be a genetic thing.

Now onto Squall!

Laguna and Raine are Squalls parents, simple. This is the connection with Ellone. When Edea came back to get Ellone, Raine was already dead, and Laguna off to war again. So she also had taken Squall with her.

Reasons;

Kiros and Ward talk about telling Squall about his parents when it's all over. Kiros also says she was a very pretty lady, he also said that same quote to Laguna in one of the dreams.

And Laguna also talks about his mom, and hints how her being good and stuff.

And it seems pretty funny they never mention his dad.

That's all I have for now. Still trying to figure out the other characters past.


Oh, one other little thought, if Laguna would have gotten with Julia, Rinoa and Squall could have been possibly brother and sister instead of lovers. 0.0

No, no. Laguna even said something about Ellones real parents, so her and Squall can only be cousins (technically). And in the game it says that Sorcerous move in time and stuff, so in the future Ellone could have become the sorcerous and then Travelled back.

You spend too much time over analyzing FFVIII ;) I somewhat feel for the Ellone is Cid's and Edea's daughter though, but that's all I can agree on.

If ellone is Ultimecia then why would she have controlled edea to look for herself? Obvously it makes no sense to look for yourself in the past and take over towns to find her

But remember, that they lose their memory when the get possessed? So when Adel or whoever possesed Ellone she mnight have forgot who 'Ellone' was and then went through time an found her.

Laguna isn't Ellone's real uncle, she just calls him that because "Mr. Loire" would be too formal. And Raine isn't Ellone's biological mother, either. So Ellone and Squall aren't blood related, although if Raine had lived they would have considered themselves to be siblings.

I doubt Cid and Edea are Elle's parents; in one of the Laguna's sequences he talked to pictures of her parents, which I think implies they're dead. And why would Cid and Edea give their kid to Raine only to take her back when Raine dies and put her in an orphanage that they run?

Ellone isn't Ultimecia, but Ultimecia has an artificial version of Ellone's power. Dr Odine made it.

Hmmm...I think you have a point there. But I still believe if anybody was Ultimecia, it was more Rinoa than Ellone.

I was reading through this board because I finally played the game last night, and I think I finally got my thoughts straight in my head.

The main issue that would made me conflict with the possibility of Ellone being Ultimecia is, "Why?" Why would she randomly go on to become so evil?

Here's a thought: remember how they had all forgotten everything because they had been using GF's for so long? They had forgotten the orphanage and everything. If Griever was the GF that Squall found and gave him to Ellone (according to the theory of the starter of the post), then eventually over time if she started junctioning Griever and he was "the most powerful GF", then she totally would have forgotten everything, giving the chance to become "evil". Most powerful GF = most memory loss. And of course, having the most powerful GF would give you that "lust for power thing". Or maybe it was more than memory loss, Griever could have taken over her mind. She would forget who she was. Hell, maybe the whole time compression thing was because she was jealous that others could remember and she could not (hence that spiel at the very end right before she dies).

I think the reason she went evil was because she had no knight because edea advises rinoa to get one otherwise you become evil. Adel had no knight she bame evil. Nor does Ultimecia that is why she became evil.

Yeah all you guys spend too much time analizing FF8. Even though everyone seems to come up wiyth suitable reasons why so and so is whomever nothing will be proved unless the people who made FF8 release it officially.
Also I don't think Ellone would be Ultimecia, pieces don't fit. Coz there aren't many loose ends with her, with the Squall and Laguna relationship and what not.

ellone isnt lagunas neice she just calls him it, the only reason he was their was because he got hurt. she sees that they both like each other and she wishes for this too. i just agree with fujin

i think that ellones parents died when the monsters took the village over, i think that they were possible friends of raines and that is why ellone went to her

There Is No Real theory But imo Rinoa Has Nothing To Do With Ulti or Adel... she just had magical powers and was possessed... simple.. laguna is squalls father ellone is the only missing link... most of thet theriies difer as to her relationship to squall and laguna... but.. bleh Who Knows?

Yeah, but Quistis, Rinoa and several enemies can use magic without GFs. Rinoa's a sorceress but how do you explain Quistis and people like the Galbadian soldiers?

No, I really don't think Ultimecia is another character from the game. I think it's pretty klear.... err, I think it's pretty clear that Ultimecia's time travel abilities are caused only by Dr. Odine's "Junction Machine Ellone" and that none of the characters have any personal connection to her. Even Odine. I think he's just an annoying little twerp who's too full of himself to care if his inventions are being used for good or evil purposes. ("Dr. Odine, a sorceress is using your time travel machine to destroy the world." "A sorceress iz using my machine? Zat iz vonderful!" :rolleyes: )

first laguna dream thingy, julia invites laguna to her room, what if something *ahem* happens?
julia never sees laguna again
laguna moves on and falls in love with raine
the game shows the general as rinoa's dad, but it says that julia was rinoa's mum, what if julia was pregnant before she married the general?

i have'nt got a theory for squall except his parent's were killed in the lunar cry that desroyed the centra continent. same for selphie seifer quistis and zell. i don't know why but i have a strange idea that irvine might be related to laguna... comments?

Are u all blind do u not realize that squall and ultimecia are really cloud and yuffie lookin for job. they were broke after there last adventure so they came back doe more cloud dyed his hair and got taller and god only knows what yuffie did. makes perfect sense to me :)

oh and BTW Laguna according to the game is only 27 unless he was at it at an early age he's not anyone father.
