Which Final Fantasy had the best music to fit the game?

<font color=red face="comic sans ms">I've played FF6-9, and like most of music in all of them except FF6, where much of it gets annoying, especially the world map theme. FF7's music is ok and it was appropriately used in most parts of the game, although some tunes did get asnnoying, especially Anxious Hearts which is played so often, and

*SPOILER*

the music heard when Cloud falls into the Lifestream.

I liked the majority of FF8's music too, except Drifting (heard when Ellone is taken by the White SeeDs) and Heresy (heard before fighting NORG - this got extremely annoying when I had to listen to it 10 times in a row because I kept losing to NORG in a no junctioning game. ;))

FF9's music was also great, You're Not Alone is probably the best music I've heard in any of the FF games I've played (excluding the songs Eyes On Me and Melodies Of Life). However, there is that very annoying "music" (if you can call it that) you hear in the Dali factory, amongst other places.

Anyway yeah, I like the majority of the music in FF games, and most of my favourite tunes are in FF8 and FF9, and I think music is used appropriately in both games. For teh sake of the poll, I'll say FF9. :D

FF6 has the best music ever. Butiful tunes, excellent for when the game was made. I still like the music, and have to say it beats 7 and 8's and 9's. I found the newer FF's music got repetitive and annoying.

The music from 7 inspired me. I still here it in my head. :p

FF7 has a way of using the same theme of music but changing it and it almost always matches the mood of the game. Especially one-winged angel!

Has to be FF6. The music in FF6 is so beautiful. I can't say why... but I just like the opera theme better than any other FF music.

final fantasy 6! the music just set the mood for the entire game! In fact, every sound from that game was beautiful, except Kefka's laugh, but it served it's purpose!:D

FF7, especially for the boss battle-music.

FFVII definately :D
I once burned all the music from FFVII on cd, and still listen to it quite often ^__^
I find each song to fit perfectly to the scene that's going on at that time.. I love it all :D

I agree that Final Fantasy VII's music all fits perfectly into the characters and the scenes taking place at the time, and makes a masterpiece out of the game, so the soundtrack to that game has to be my favourite.

**Spoilers.**

My favourite single piece of music is The Dark Messenger (Trance Kuja's theme.) That piece of music fitted the character perfectly.

Probaly FFVI or FFVIII or maybe even FFVII although I don't like the music as much as the other games. FFVI has a nice 'theme' in it's music and it's quality for a original snes game, FFVIII just has great music on the great moments of that game ^_^

u guys all suck. 1-5 is the best cuz, in 4 the battle music is almost the exact same as in 9, it inspired them to use it in 9.

For sure, it was 7. Nobuo Umatesu is truly grand at what he does. Each FF has truly awesome music, but 7 has made its claim. It's also heard to still be one of (in my opinion, thee) the best FF game out there, let alone game. I stick with this thought ever since 97, when it came out.

......FF7 wouldn't be as great if it didn't have Aeris.

......FF9 only sells because it has Garnet (as well as the other characters) in it.:D

FFVII had the greatly fitted tunes , city of ancients , and also they used aeris theme perfectly in alot of parts...i could go on forever with the music from FFVII but i wont lol

FFX had a couple of very good music peices ( no not suteki da ne or otherworld ) they just aint fair..because they have lyricz however they did r0ck im speaking of...The music on mt. gagazette ... i thought it fit so perfectly...it really captured well with the graphics the music implied the actually coldness of the mountain ...and the music in moonflow was really nice to listen to but thruthfully i think nobuo uematsu provides the best game music around.

I thought that Final Fantasy IX had the best music, because it was dramatic in the places it was supposed to be dramatic, but it also was quite quiet and peaceful. So I thought FF IX was the best.
