Overtime, I would presume the Virtual Console library will expand. Yes, they're saved to the system.

Will I need to buy a special controller to play them? I'm pretty positive that the new remotes wont work, but will my gamecube controller work fine for them?

The Classic Controller is needed. I guess you can try with the Gamecube, but don't be surprised if it's incompatible.

I'm pretty sure that the classic controller is required to play the older games, hence the name. I'm also pretty sure that it's compatible with the newer games as well.

I only said rumor because my friend said that he thinks, and wasn't sure. I hadn't checked nintendo's website. Instead, I went to wikipedia, which didn't mention anything about it.

I may actually get a Wii... just for the sake of Zelda. I got a Nintendo 64 for it, I got a Game Cube for it (both of which I no longer have)... SOOOO I guess this means I will probably end up getting a Wii for Zelda. A system I don't really like, BUT.. at least on G4 they "showed" us how the game is played based on the controller set up.. makes me feel at ease knowing I don't have to stand in front of the TV swinging my arms back and forth like a raging lunatic.

You could always just get the Gamecube version of Twilight Princess, though I'm assuming there will eventually be another Zelda game coming out in a few years, but by that time there should be some price drop. I don't really know if there are difference between the two, though, so whatever.

Not true. All current VC games work with a GCN controller, but we only know for sure that the GCN controller will work with NES/SNES/N64 games. Genesis and Turbografx games currently use it, but future releases may or may not.

I think it's likely that the GCN controller will continue being fine though; from memory, the Wii Classic controller doesn't have any extra buttons, just the GCN buttons laid out in the general shape of a slightly larger SNES pad.

The classic controller is required for SOME VC games, not all.

You can download NES, SNES, and 64 games, as well as some Sega and games from other old companies. You have to purchase Wii Points though, which cost a penny for point. Game stores sell 2000 Wii Points for $20. N64 games cost 1000 points each.
