Back to the topic at hand, my favourites would be FFII, FFVI, FFIX and FFX.

I haven't played 3, 5, 6, 10, 10-2 or 12 yet but out of the others I think either FF8 for Final Fantasy Tactics.

Without doubt Final Fantasy IX and FVIII. I'm adamant on not re-playing FFVII for at least two years; the recent overexposure has made me dislike the game to some extend.

I like Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy VIII the best! ^-^

Although, FFIX and FFVII were good too...

FFVIII and FF Tactics PS1, ive replayed the 2 most out the the rest.



pretty surprised quite a few of you chose FFVIII, usually when the topic comes up, most people give me this look of awe that i claim to perfering FFVIII over VII, X, etc. but then again, thats only 3 of you who posted. =P

Final Fantasy 6 is my favorite

Either FFIV or FF VI.

I dispise FFX and X-2, and with all the spotlight on FFVII, I'm sticking with the SNES.

IV, VI, IX and X are my favourites.

I like VII, VIII, IX and X. They all have their faults but I still play them from time to time.

I havent had a chance to get through any of the classics yet except 1, and I also havent played XII or X-2 yet.

Without doubt Final Fantasy IX...

Probably X, X-2, and the "old series", although I wonder if I'll like it more it they made remakes of the "old series".

I haven't played FF 12 yet, though.

II and IX. Neither is perfect, but I love them both. :D

I really like II as well, but the game was so simple and almost no meaningful events struck me in the story.

For my favorite, I like V and IX

Of course I've played more of XI than anything else at this point.

Well, I've pretty much played I-VII, and I must say that VI is on the top of my list. I can't remember the number of times I've won and replayed it. And to think it was the first Final Fantasy game I actually played. VII comes in a close second.

I, VII, and IX

Though...I haven't actually played the original FFI (NES version)--I played the Dawn of Souls GBA port.
I heard the NES version was much harder...

Six then Eight.I loved the characters in six and kefka was the most badass villian ive ever seen. When he poisoned that river I was like wtf?! I can never get enough of the cute scenes in 8 like when Squall and rinoa were in the infirmiry (spelling?) and the nurse asks if rinoa is squalls girlfriend. and theres a couple options.....XD.

FFIX is by far my favorite
FFVIII was ok and I absolutly hate VII

FFIX to be sure... That game was so much FUN!

Still, FFI holds a warm place in my heart - I played that one over and over... I even bought the strategy guide for it back in the day....

IX probably, currently on my 5h playthrough.
V is probably my second favourite; havent played VI yet so this could change.

VI and IX. No competition.

Hands down VIII. The run of VI, VII, and VIII is the greatest in any series I have ever played. That of course extends from IX onward, but those three are seminal.

FFVI. Used to be FFVII, but I find it boring now. XII could be a contender for the top spot though, it is turning out to be a rather awesome game.

and then comes II, because it is by far the hardest FF in the series

My favourite FF game would have to be either FFVII or FFX. I loved all of the series though.

X, IX, VI and VII, in that order.......would love to play the early games in series too. I feel like I'm missing out on some quality retro Final Fantasies.

My favorites, in no particular order, are VI, IX, V, and VI. I have yet to play/get far in IV or XIII though.

To be honest, my favorites by far are X and X-2. People who say that the story is simple crap obviously don't understand that the meaning of a good storyline is to draw you into the characters and cause you to feel things. I relate to some of the characters in a lot of ways. From a psychology standpoint, almost every playable character had their own varying depths of personality which became quite interesting to study as I played through the games.

Another of my favorites is VIII. I don't have much to say about this one that everyone else hasn't already said. Solid story, fun gameplay, some interesting characters (though sometimes I wanted to slap Squall for being pouty... lol)

VI was awesome too, and I really want to play IV now that so many people have said good things about it.

Maybe it's because I'm a chick, but I really liked the follow up to my favorite game. It really helped to give closure where FFX left one feeling rather empty after beating it. Really, for as much crap as it seems to catch, X-2 has many redeeming qualities, even if the girl power thing is a bit much at times even for girl gamers, lol. The battle system is near perfection, and the dresspheres, though the idea seems silly, really brought back the "jobs" system from older FFs like V. The game also has more replay value with numerous missions and sidequests, new scenes and mission outcomes based on different choices you have to make throughout the game, five different end outcomes, and the new game + option missing from other Final Fantasies. I know that it's not for everybody, but for huge fans of FFX and people just looking for a fun little game to play, X-2 is a great game. Though it appears as if everyone has bad things to say about it, it has been an overall success.

Final fantasy VIII! defenitly! The juction system was challenging at first but once you get the hang of it it was cool!

I also love the story and the characters!! VII Is defenitly second and X third!

1. A lot of people like it. Most of them are the type of people who appreciate good games of any sort.

2. I doubt very seriously that you can come up with a single complaint about the game that has any substance.

If I had to pick, it'd be a tie between FFIV and FFVI. If I had to pick just one, it would be FFVI, purely for the scope of the game. And opera.

I think that the opera scene is overrated. I loved the game and its a great scene, but it adds nothing to the story

It's actually a difficult question to answer. Every time I start a new FF game, nostalgia kicks in and I feel I'm playing one of the best FF ever.

V, VI, and VII. not in that order though.

My favourite's would have to be FFVIII then FFX! Loved all the characters in both games and i loved the scenes and scenery!

Final Fantasy 9. Pure class
Final Fantasy 6. Pure class with a spot of dirt on the case.
Final Fantasy 1. The roots of the class.
Final Fantasy 10. Best ideas for a Final Fantasy.
Final Fantasy 10-2. It took me a while to come around.
Final Fantasy 3. Good fun job system. Onion knight w00t.
Final Fantasy 4. This should have been called Kamikaze Fantasy.
Final Fantasy 8. Never really into this one.
Final Fantasy 7. The forum has shown me the errors of my ways as a FF7 fanboy.
Final Fantasy 2. This was OK I guess.
Final Fantasy 5. I kept getting stuck on this and haven't completed it yet.
Final Fantasy 11. Bought it and realised my parents don't have the right credit card to play it.

My favourites are VIII, X (although I've overplayed it) and XII. I adore the characters and storylines of them all and really enjoyed playing through them.

Those were the most addicting for me. I would say FF5 but i always got stuck like at the desert pyramid and gave up on that shit.

I'm having a tough time deciding which I like better, FFVIII or FFX after replaying them both. I think FFVIII had the best overall story, but the level of character development and interaction is FFX and the overall polished gameplay really makes it hard. After those two, it's not quite as difficult.

IV wins for me, hands down. Battling the Fiends of Elements still rank as the all-time most amazing experience from the series.

My favorites would be FFVII (its the first one I can remember ever playing), FFX (a very good plot and quite playable), FFIX (a pretty good game, it was a lot of fun though I never finished it).

I rented FF Anthology from Blockbuster once and I liked it, so I bought a copy on Ebay and I'm just waiting for it to get here to get started on it.

I didn't really get into video games until well into the Nintendo era (the NES was already on the verge of being replaced by the SNES) and I really only played games like Super Mario Brothers, and once and a while Zelda. I didn't get into rpg's until I bought a Playstation and FFVII, so I can't really comment on the earlier releases in the FF series.

final fantasy vii.. the one that took me the longest to complete and had the best storyline... 3 discs yeh.. took me 10 times as long as the 4 discs of ffix...... so fff vii.. definatly...

They all have strengths and weaknesses, so its hard to decide. I would probably pick either X, VIII, or VII.
