GamePRO reviews Final Fantasy XII on pages 130-131 of its December 2006 issue, #219. They give it 5.0 for graphics, 4.5 for sound, 5.0 for control and an overall 5.0 Fun Factor and tag it as an Editors' Choice. GamePRO comments that the game is as "epic as it is entertaining" and notes that "By granting you control of the camera to survey the gorgeous architecture and impressive environments, the developers invite you to truly take in the world of Ivalice rather than to merely exist in it." They also comment that the new Gambit system "removes the tedium from battle and enables you to focus on overall strategy."

GamePRO only one thing of interest to complain about in regards to the game. They noted that "While the cinematics are absolutely gorgeous, the in-game graphics are often grainy and pixelated. They're not awful by any means, but are less polished than those featured in FFXII's pre-rendered predecessors."

GamePRO concludes by saying that the game is "a rare, monumental gaming experience" and that its "what all RPGs, regardless of platform or subject matter, should aspire to be."

actually the game is fun right, but every FF has something in it to let it special, in this game , this special thing is absent, and its the Story.

the focus in FF12 mostly about the Gameplay, and thats why i think they give it a full mark.

Marking out of 5 is a pretty shitty system imo.

EDIT: It seems to be doing pretty well on gamerankings.com (http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/459841.asp)

It's too bad so many of those reviewers are either remarkably ignorant or outright lying about the game's merits/demerits.

The problem is the reviewer's probably play the game for a few hours and then write their review. These guys don't know $hit.

Re --- the five point system --- GamePRO used to use a different system, but they recently switched to this new one where they have a max of five for each category and focus mainly on their rating for the Fun Factor. It seems to work pretty well for them --- they're not afraid to do .5s at times.

I don't subscribe to GamePRO, but I do get it from the library. I disagree with a lot of what they say, but I find them to be generally better than most gaming magazines in a lot of areas.

The gaming magazine I think is the best unfortunatly only deals with PC games... They need to have a branch that deals with console games.
