I'm in the story line where I have the mark provided by that rabbit in the clan. its the chicken thing in the south part of the map. I tried my best to defeat it but with no use, is it too early for me to fight this mark or what?

LOL rabbit...
depends on your level and equipment, abilities you have, etc... be more specific about it
naturally, now gilthanos will come and tell you to get all the quickenings and kill it in one blow -_-

As "cheap" as the quickenings may be, they are the best tactic for kiling the cluckatrice that early. If hes having that much trouble than he has to either farm some license points to get a few quickenings, or he has a shitload of leveling up to do, lol.

I simply left it, went to the lhusu mines, leveled up and came back for it when i was done with the stuff over there. Was incredibly easy.

Btw rabbit? LOL. They are called moogles -_-

Can`t find the dammed chicken how do you draw it out?

You have to defeat all the foes in that particular area first, exit the area, and when you come back in, there'll be a few Chickatrices running around. Attack one, and in will come the Cluckatrice.

Be warned though, as far as early hunts go, it's a little difficult. There are so many foes and they're pretty quick with the attacks.

Ever notice how all of the farm animals are birds? For example, the Chocobo are suited for riding or transporting goods behind it just as a Horse does. The Chickatrices tend to be small and plump similar to a Pig or Hog. Then there are those Green quadrupeds at Jahara that appear to be able to produce milk much like a Cow. Just a though.

Oh God. This mark is pissing me off. I wasn't able to find it before, and then I finally got a tip from that helpful dude at the Clan Centurio informing me exactly where to find it and that you have to kill off all the enemies first. But now it's the rainy season and there's this Storm Elemental hanging around there and driving me off the wall. I think I may have gained sufficient Quickenings since the last time I stopped by there to finally take care of that Storm Elemental, but if not, what do I do about it? The Cluckatrice doesn't seem to want to show up until that sucker is toast. (Or is the Cluckatrice even available to fight during the rainy season?)

I'm almost positive the Cluckatrice won't show up until it's the dry again. And even so, I'd avoid fighting the elemental in order to make the Cluckatrice come out. You would just drain all your MP by using Blizzard/ara (depending on what you have) or by using quickenings to kill the damn thing.

Bottom line - just wait til the dry, hehe.

Right, thanks --- I'll just wait until it's dry again.

Once its dry season again, how long til it rains? I have a mark there but only during the rainy season.

Are you talking about the Gil Snapper? I'm not sure about there, but I recall somebody mentioning in another thread that there's a guy somewhere in the game that can tell you exactly how much longer you have to wait until a particular season. Alternatively --- just wait. The mark will still be there. I waited and eventually took down the Cluckatrice. It just takes a bit of patience.

No I was talking about the Rocktoise mark, the one that ate the guys ring. I took him down already, rather a really easy fight. And I found old Weather Eye, I think he is called that now, hehe.
