I have a feeling I'm going to see a thread for every damn powerhouse boss in the game because they can't figure it out themselves.

Ghis has been discussed in other threads, you just have to look around, but whatever. It also doesn't take a pop-tart to setup gambits. Set-up 3 healers and 3 tanks/dps, once one dies bring out the other. Make it a consistant chain until the fucker is dead; and if one of the characters dies a little early in the fight, throw him a p-down providing you're not about to die yourself.

Heh.. i hate gambits. Ghis was hard for me too. Seriously.. i just used a kick ass quickening on him and that pretty much finished him off. There were a couple of regular attacks, but i was severly weakened by the trip GETTING to him so.. that kinda blew monkey ballz. ANyway.. yeah he can be tough. Like I said.. I am a Quickening maniac. I have a new record now. 15 Combo doing over 41000 damage to the Ring Wyrm Mark in Westersand. WOOT!

I've only used 1 Quickening so far, and I was testing it. I had to setup where each character will head to on the License Board for their 3. I'm not bothered with them yet; once I get my important primary skills, armor, and weapons, I'll be more interested in them. I haven't been doing half bad. (Though the characters with them aren't in my main party, the next boss battle I'll whip them out, blow the Quickenings and switch 'em up)

well i dont remember what lvl i was for Ghis, but .. i'll tell you what, it can't help for you to go and just farm some LP. I do quite often... and i have to say it helps out quite a bit

... Ring Wyrm Mark...

Ring Wyrm Mark sounds to me like something you catch.

It would be best to get all your characters to have at least Quickening level 1.
If you think its hard, have all 3 reserved party used Quickening and get at least Inferno to clear the Imperial Armies.
Then change to your main party to fight Ghis.
Fight him and finish him with your Quickening when Ghis' HP is low.

Wow I was like Level 15 or 16 when I fought Ghis.

Just used regular attacks and about a potion and that was it.

I beat Ghis with no problem at all and on the first try. I've yet to use a quickening in this game, in fact I just found out about them like 10 minutes ago when I found this forum, lol.

This really isn't a game that you should rush through. Take your time and develop your characters. I try to explore every area of every zone and try to kill every fiend in that area/zone (and if an area is good for exploiting fiends to gain levels and lp, then take advantage of it).

I beat Ghis in one try. I saw that 3 guards were coming up on me. I was like, oh crap. So I had Basch use his limit or was it Balthier? Anyways, I had Basch use the quickening ability and managed to chain 3 of them to get the attack Inferno to engage. That pretty much finished him off. It sort of stopped after the quickening was done and that finished the battle. I was like around 10-12 or so when I beat him.

IMO.. Bergan was easier than Ghis.

hehe... pop-tarts.

I beat Ghis in one try.

As did I, but Ghis was still a bitch to fight... yet so fun.

Again, Ghis is only hard (IMO) because of the fact that you have to fight him somewhat unprepared. I was no where near prepared to fight him when I did, although I still beat him. Bergan was alot easier...

Maybe you should level up instead of just relying on quickenings.

Yeah, I just got my butt whooped on this. I am probably a bit underleveled, and went about the license board the wrong way :( *noob @ games*

I was close, though, although my resources would've been severely depleted afterward. Suppose I'll just try farming LP for awhile and crap in order to get some equipment upgrades.

Also, I have one quickening for Basch, and I had no idea what was going on when it happened, so I did a whole 90 damage. D: lol

ghis wasnt hard for me at all. after you kill his guards just have vaan hit and run so that balthier and fran can whomp on him while he is chasing you. i didnt use any quickenings and the battle was still easy

Alright I'm going to put this in this thread.

I need suggestions.

I'm about to go against Ghis

Alright here I go

I'm going to use my quickening in the beginning and then attack.
below is how I'm going to set my bandits.

Vaan = Quickening in the beginning.
Bandits
1. fight
2. cure

Balfier =
Bandits
1. Potion when ally goes under 70 maybe 50 if I can buy it.
2. Attack who ever is closest

Bacsh =
Bandits
1.Attack leaders target

Team 2 ( If other's should die )

If Balfier dies
Fran =
Bandits
1. Cure
2. Fight closest enemy

If Vaan dies
Ashe =
Bandits
1. Cure
2. Attack

If Basch dies
Penelo
1. Attack party leaders target

I hav'nt tried these yet. I would really like if you guys could tell me if you dissagree with something. I want to do this first try because running through the facility is getting pretty annoying. :-P

i would say set the ally heal to cure (and use HP<70) use potions manually if you are in a critical condition. use the attack party leaders target gambit on all ur party it works very nice in this battle that way u can get rid of the guards faster, and as for vaan id say take his heal off thats what i did and i had no trouble at all

That's what I basically did. My priority 1 gambit for Balthier and Fran was the ally HP<70 use a potion and then priority 2 was foe party leader's target. I had Vaan equipped with a rod (attack power 30) and Balthier and Fran both had a killer bow with onion arrows (attack power 33 or 34) and I was a level 12 or 13. Attack the guards first one at a time, once they're dead just attack Ghis.

Never had to use a quickening and only used a few potions

For the people who thought Ghis was tough then I feel bad for you because

minor spolier?

you will have to do more battles like these with the other judges

ya see i think this way works really good, i started my game over the other day (im already on my way to Jahara but grinding for LP, gil etc.. at the moment) because i opened 3 of the Zodiac Spear chests and both times i fought Ghis i did it this way and it worked

2nd attempt at Ghis went a lot more smoothly. Spent a bit of time correcting my LP board mistakes, getting a couple equipment upgrades, and gaining a level or two for each character. I'm still a bit of a spaz with the whole gambit-system, but I beat him, so I'm happy.

The sandsea FMV with the... god I can't think what they're called atm (the little guys!), was rly neat.
