I dont know if this game is 'going to be run' either so yeah...

Judging by your system specs, your system seems to pass all the required minimum specifications to run the game as far as operating system, processor, memory, video card and hard disk space go.

However, if you still have any doubts about whether your laptop will run FFXI, try downloading the official FFXI Benchmark and running it (available here: http://www.playonline.com/ff11eu/download/media/benchmark01.html?pageID=media

If after running the Benchmark, it gives a score as 'Easy Prey' or over, then your system can run FFXI pretty well.

We assume that your computer can run FINAL FANTASY XI for Windows enjoyably with the default settings. If your video card exceeds the recommended system requirements, it may be possible to run "FINAL FANTASY XI for Windows" easily even in high resolution mode.

So, it seems like you have nothing to worry about installing and running FFXI now.

i just update ffxi, but it say: something about no response from world server :S

Apparently one of the servers is having technical problems at the moment (Gilgamesh server as I recall), so maybe this problem you're having is connected with this. All you can really do is wait a while and try connecting again.

Otherwise, it could have just been server congestion. But the way of solving it is the same. I know you're probably very eager to play FFXI, but just have patience, wait for a while and and try to connect again to FFXI again.

I have the same graphics card GeForce Go 6150 w/ VRAM of 128, RAM 1GB, 1.6 GH processor and I cannot get FFXI to run. I scored a 3049(very tough) on the FFXI benchmark, so I dont know whats going on, any ideas?

This may be a long shot, but are you using Windows Vista by any chance? Although you haven't mentioned what operating system you're using, Square Enix have officially stated FFXI will not run under Windows Vista at the moment, although they are apparently working on developing a patch to make the game compatiable with Vista. If this is the cause of your problem, then all I can suggest is maybe reinstalling Windows XP on your system and running FFXI under that at the moment.

Otherwise, maybe giving a little more information about your system (if you have FFXI installed, select PlayOnline Viewer Config from the start menu: usually Start>Programs>Playonline>Playonline Viewer>Playonline Viewer Config, and select 'System Information'. This will 'benchmark' your system, and copy the results into the Clipboard. Simply paste the information into a reply) will help a lot, so I can hopefully come to a better idea as to the cause of your problem.

Hmm, after looking at your system specifications (which appear to satsify all the minimum requirements for running FFXI), I've come to the conclusion that this is indeed a problem with Vista, and that the patch you downloaded from the FFXI website might have something to do with it. The patch may have been corrupted, or it may have inadvently corrupted your installation of FFXI and POL when you installed it.

If you can get PlayOnline Viewer to load properly, but not FFXI, try selecting 'Check Files' (on the initial login screen) and scan PlayOnline Viewer and FFXI to see if your installation hasn't corrupted. If it detects any corrupt files, don't panic, as it can probably download them and install them automatically.

Otherwise, if even after doing this it still won't solve the problem, all I can really suggest is uninstalling FFXI and then try reinstalling the game from scratch, although I know how time consuming that is (it took me the better part of a day to install FFXI, and that was running the game under Windows XP, although my system was crashing repeatedly at the time which didn't help.)

EDIT: Although I have no real experience with using Vista, is there a 'compatiability mode' feature in Vista which can help run older programs which have trouble running otherwise, like what Windows XP has? If it does, then try setting it to the equivelant of Windows XP or Windows 2000 and see if that may help too.
