Just was wondering if anyone has found a way to be able to play Everquest off-line. It would be cool to be able to play this off-line with a cheater chairactor (like a level 100 wizard or something). I don't mean this to try and go on-line with. There must be a way since all the zones/npcs/textures/etc are all stored off-line.

I know there has been people who have tried to use hacked chairactors on-line, but they was quickly found and banned from the game (which I agree with).

Eh I dunno... maybe a debug mode or something... could use some sorta patch or special program.... but I'm not an expert on this.

Hmm... I hope FFXI does the same with the banning.

Most of your Pay to play on-line games do have that. Like Phantasy Star On-line ver 1 allows hacks. But Version 2, which is not free to play on-line, does not.

PSO never allowed hacks. People just found ways around the security. I pitty the people that waste their time hacking. It just shows that they have no social life...or their only one is online. lol. Damn geeky hackers.

i used gs for PSO (after i completed it with a maxed out character)

and it was hell of fun

when you mean hacking do you mean pking? cause its quite an easy process to pk (even though i hardly did it, only to ppl that stole from me)

or, are you talking about nol'ing, because i think they defininitely hacked when it comes to nol'ing

I did PK a guy (but only one guy.... he was pissing me off because he kept sending me those messages again and again and again and again.)

He always go to locked games and does that.... but heck, theres codes for everything these days (used a Password Bypass code, go in, stopped him from annoying the hell outta me.) That made him stop and I was happy... or so I thought o_O

He decided to do it again but this time he claims to have a gameshark. He went to my game (which was unlocked) and attempted to PK me...

Well, he did it the newbie way... he casted a Level 117 resta... but he killed himself without killing me. After that, I just stole his stuff, proceeded to NOL him (hoping that would stop him) and then made my way out saying "You were the baddest cat around... till I showed up"

After that, I decided not to use my "Cheat Device" for PSO anymore... heck, thats the only time I actually used a Cheat Device.... go fig.

Sadly, there are Gameshark codes to go online (PSO v2) without paying anything... those include the ultra cheap people btw =P

I also heard that Sonic Team took another step of safety and detects Cheat Devices.

As you may or may not know, The Gameshark (or similar Cheat Devices) save their code data on a Special Memory card or a Regular Memory Card. When connected to the server, the server detects if anything irregular is happening... if something is wrong, they will go around your memory card and look for any Cheat Device saves and deletes them. This can also ban you from the Server (either from 1 day or 1 month)

I've always wanted that feature for EQ and all the other online RPG's I've ever played (other than Diablo and Baldur's gate of course)
