Hello everyone! Forum n00b, but I hate intro posts, so I figured I'd just jump right in.

I've recently become re-aquainted with Final Fantasy IX, the only FF game I've ever played and which I love muchly but have yet to complete. This is leading me to go on crazy eBay hunts for FF9 merchandise, but, of course, what's sold on eBay isn't always legit.

So, what I'd like to know is if there's a list anywhere of official FF9 merchandise. I'm looking for a good Zidane action figure; my fiance has Quina and Freya and I know there were similar figures made for the other party members, I've even seen them in the past, but I can't find them anywhere now (these were the four inch, highly detailed figures that came in packs of two (Garnet with Steiner, Freya with Quina, Zidane with Vivi). Any help would be much appreciated.

And, I hope this isn't too inappropriate, but I like to multi-task, so here's some Zidane fanart:

Firstly, welcome to FFShrine! Enjoy your time here.

As for FFIX merchandise, there is no site listing all known official FFIX merchandise released over the six or so years since the game's original release that I am aware of (there is a site listing FFVII merchandise though), although RPGamer does have a few known items listed under 'Propaganda' ( http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/ff9/ff9propaganda.html ) but as a rough guide to what's been released so far, here is some of my official FFIX merchandise collection:

FFIX PAL (Australian) version (naturally, you have to include the game itself in this list)
Tetra Master - From FFIX PC (online) version (comes bundled with FFXI: Online PC version)
Bradys Games Official FFIX Strategy Guide (US version - there is a European guide released by Piggyback available too)
Bandai FFIX two-pack action figures: Zidane & Vivi, and Garnet and Steiner
Banpresto Garnet keychain figure
Banpresto 'FFIX Diorama' figures of Garnet and Zidane on the Lindblum Castle balcony.
FFIX Established File Japanese artbook
FFIX Visual Art Collection Japanese artbook
FFIX Postcard Book
FFIX dark navy-blue t-shirt (official, with the logo on the front with the portraits of the main characters and Vivi on the back)
Large FFIX wall scroll
FFIX Original Soundtrack 4-disc music CD album (Japanese)
FFIX ~ Music From the FFIX VIdeo Game - Uematsu's Best Selection music CD (US)
Melodies of Life ~ Featured in FFIX Emiko Shiratori music CD single (Japanese)
FF S Generation music CD (US)

Additionally, I also have some unofficial FFIX stuff as well, which although not worth much to the serious FF collector, are still interesting to the 'FF completionist':

Large Zidane and Garnet vinyl statues
FFIX movie VCD (shows all the FMVs from the game)
Japanese FFIX doujinshi (fan comic) manga

There is still a lot of FFIX merchandise that has been released over the years which I haven't mentioned, but most of it would be very hard to find now (a lot of my collection was purchased over the last six or so years), but as you're aware, eBay is probably the best location for aquiring rare items you can't get anywhere else. So, with a little luck, and much searching, I'm sure you'll be able to find some rare FFIX merchandise eventually. :)

Thanks Enkido! I've heard of/seen a lot of the stuff in your list; I'll definately check out the link.

Jarosik...okay. Any particular reason you deemed it necessary to spout profanity?

Of course. Ebay is a stinking pile of turd, that is why.

Let me know when you find somewhere good.

OH! Okay, now it makes sense. I thought you were calling me a fucker. :P Yeah, eBay is like a combination of the Best Store Ever and the Pit of a Thousand Evils. I always double check merchandise to make sure it's legit/legal before making a purchase. If I find a list, I'll definately let you all know; I could swear I've seen one somewhere, but I might be mixing up fandoms or something.

Random, OT grumble: why is this message board, this entirely text message board, in-accessible to screen reading software? Methinks I need to have a talk with the people who did the code.

Ah yes, SquexToys. (And no, I did not make that term up, they officially call themselves that. XD) Other official FF9 items that have been released very recently.

Trading Arts, vol 1 - Vivi (also in set: Cloud, Sephiroth, Yuna, Rinoa, Lulu)
Trading Arts, vol 2 - Zidane (also in set: Tidus, Tifa, Vincent, Selphie, Rikku)
Master Creatures collection - FF9's Leviathan

Limited Edition pewter figures:
1. Princess Garnet
2. Zidane

Other action figures (available in sets of 2):
Freya & Amarant
Eiko & Quina

Other books:
FFIX Ultimania (Japanese language guidebook -friggen awesome!!)
FFIX scriptbook (Japanese language script)

There's more stuff I've collected over the years. Enki mentioned a lot of it, too. ^^ What I wouldn't give for Square to make some official FF9 pieces akin to the jewelry and costume pieces they made for the other games, though. :P Particularly Dagger's pendant.

If you can get hold of the Tetra Master card game it is well worth it, they pop-up on ebay from time to time. I think it was only released in Germany.

Actually, Tetra Master was never officially released as a physical card game, at least to my knowledge. There are plenty of bootleg/unofficial versions available though, but they're not officially licensed by Square.

The only other version of Tetra Master available besides the version in the original game is the online version included with FFXI, but that doesn't really count.

There's also the Art of Final Fantasy IX book by brady games and they even sold a FFIX calender. Both I have. There are also a few things they list in the back of the instruction manuel to the game - mostly t-shirts.

edit: all this FFIX mercandise talk reminded me that Eiko and Amarant extra soldier III is the only one I don't have. There's only one auction on ebay for it and it ends in 4 days. *crosses fingers*
