I kind of liked the flow of FFVII's battle system, and the animations and battle sound-effects are very dynamic....
I also really like FFVIII's junction system, though...

I think it's blatantly obvious that English is not his first language you fucking lemon.

To answer the question, the materia system although, an awesome concept, isn't really that great. It doesn't allow much sense of individuality amongst the characters. Where only a characters stats dictate how well they perform a spell, it's still left to be seen, that any character can perform it (a spell, any). Final Fantasy 9 is a great example of how the characters are very much seperated in what they can do, and in which, makes the game a whole lot more interesting.

Furthermore, I personally enjoyed the battle system in FFVII more than VIII. I thought that FFVIII sucked entirely though. The materia system was excellent IMO.

That was back when I was still 2 years of age. I learned to write and read not only English, but Cantonese as well within the year. So that excuse is pathetic at best. It's not about arrogance, but plain blockheaded stupidity. Everything we say that amounts to his English being shit goes right over his head and he goes on as if nothing has happened, language isn't the only thing he's raped, there's context and coherency.
