Well...I haven't tried a new rpg in the last 12 months. I've heard a lot of good rpgs but they just don't seem to reach my country(It's a European country.Only by name though.)-(Damn it.)

So...Can anyone suggest any good new or old RPGs?
(When I say "good" I mean an interesting plot,easy-to-understand and flexible gameplay and nice graphics...Some of my terms...)

Also does anyone know which good RPGs are going to be released sometime soon?

Heroes of Might and Magic 2

Older game for the PC, the company that made it isn't around anymore so you'd probably have to find a download somewhere or maybe in a bargin bin. It's a bit different than your typical console rpg (ok, a lot different), but one of my favorite games of all time.

Plus if you have some friends that are into the same type of gaming as you there's a really excellent hotseat versus mode to play against them.

it will be known as Soleil in europe, a majorly overlooked game. The closest thing to Zelda on the megadrive/Genesis.

I'd recomend Vampire: The Masquearade - Redemption (an old favourite of mine) or Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II (my current addiction) personally, though I've heard good things about Deus Ex (never played it myself though).

Xenogears never came out in Europe. Plus it's status as a 'good' RPG is debatable due to its rather half-arsed second disk.

Arcanum is a pretty decent CRPG. As for console RPGs, you'll probably have a hard time finding anything decent in PAL. Even FF games can be quite rare/expensive. Unless you're willing to mod your PS1/2 of course...

Tales of Symphonia hands down, it's long and the story is interesting, also the battle system is really nice. Then again if you don't have a gamecube you could try grandia 3 (ps2) or suikoden 5 (ps2).

Um, Suikoden 1 and 2, Disgaea, oh yeah, Ogre Battle 64 was good.

Tales of Symphonia and Grandia 3 are overrated, there are better games in these series like Tales of Eternia and Grandia respectively.

TOE was a fine game. I must recommend fire emblem though. For GBA/GC. I'm also enjoying Atelier Iris 2 for PS2 ATM

I'm a fan of the Suikoden series (except perhaps the fourth one), so I guess that I'll recommend them (You'd have the best luck finding the fifth one- the first two are quite rare, and the third was never released in Europe).

I guess that I would also go with the Wild Arms series, or Fire Emblem, but the final decision is yours.

I would suggest, from what I've played, the following:

1 - Digital Devil Saga, Parts 1 and 2:
Part 2 still has to be released in Europe, but I've played both and can say hands down it's superior to a certain famed RPG series. Good graphics, interesting soundtracks and the most moving, indepth plot I've seen in a long time.

2 - Suikoden 2 and 1.
Leave out 4, and 3 never got released in Europe. 2 and 1 I prefer over Final Fantasy.

3 - Dragon Quest 8.
Awesome, awesome, awesome.

4 - Wild Arms 3/Wild Arms.
The Wild Arms series have a nice Wild West feel.

Having rifled through my mass of RPG's, I will recommend the following:

[I automatically assume you've played the FF's, other wise why would you be here? lol]

Kingdom Hearts II
Shadow Hearts
Shadow Hearts Covenant
Ys VI: Ark of Napishtim
Contact (kinda wonky, but well-suited for Earthbound fans)
Xenosaga III: Also sprach Zarathustra
SoulBlazer (SNES)
Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals (SNES)

...I'll just toss in Legend of Legaia in here. While the graphics are horribly unprofessionally done and the dialogue cliche'd and cheesy, the gameplay is certainly interesting and challenging enough to keep you occupied for a while. ;)

This game was mediocre, I predicted the plot within 30 minutes of the game. Nice battle system though

The Baldurs Gate Saga.

Wins easily, hands down.

A huge world where anything can, and will happen. Awesome NPCs with a will and personality of their own (including quirks). Great character customusation (with dual and multi classes, the possibilities are limitless) and no two times you play the game, it'll be the same.

Planescape: Torment.

Possibly the truest and best RPG I've ever played. Great characters awesome story and depth. Eventually you'll find yourself trying harder and harder figuring out who you really are. But then, will you like it? No game has made me love RPGs as much as this one.

Septerra Core.

I've not heard many people mention this game anywhere. Which is sad. The game itself is in Manga style, but that's not the main importance. The story is quite original and your party consists of diverse and really interesting characters. The game has great music and a great flow. The magic system is ingenius but can be annoying since it's a little hard to master.

Grandia II.

The best game from the series so far, in my opinion. Good story and fun fights. The level up system makes you apply a little bit of strategy and thinking. The personal equip system is lovable or hateble. Do you max out one character and leave the rest in your shadow, or would you try and balance it?

Dark Cloud II (US)/Dark Chronicle (EU).

I really enjoyed this game, it is colorful and fun. There isn't a "real" level up system. Sur eyou gain health and eventually become stronger. But it comes down to upgrading your weapon. And you can do this in many ways. You can time travel and by completing certain objectives in the past, the present and future will change accordingly. Also you have the ability/task to construct and entire village that'll influence the game.

Durendal's honarable mention of HoMaM is a good one, but to me it doesn't qualify as a RPG, it's a strategy game to me. Compare it to Warcraft 3 if you will. You have one "hero" unit that leads an army into battle, but he is able to cast powerful spells and the like.

Star Ocen: The Second Story hasnt been mentioned.
The Legend of Dragoon had many things wrong with it,many, but it was an interesting game nonetheless.
The Lunar games for PS1 rocked too.
D&D games for PC are alright too.
lol,Darkstone for PS1 was killer.I loved that game.
(edit)forgot Valkyrie Profile.

Nobody Seemed to have mentioned the Arc the Lad series The most recent one is completely real time no real-time turn-based fusion. Or Megaman X Command Mission, It would have been much better as a Real time Rpg IM0.

Star Ocean 2 is the best RPG of anything that I have played...but it's a bit difficult if you're a beginner. I'd try out something akin to Thousand Arms (a humorous game with a "dating system"). It's fun, the characters are realistic but the dialogue is light, the story is just something...you'll laugh all the way through it. The battle system is interesting but easy to use, and I got the hang of it in the first few battles or so. So Thousand Arms is always a nice starter RPG.

Another one I highly reccomend is DewPrism (Threads of Fate). It's more soft core RPG (story is cool but light, battle is a breeze, its fairly easy and nothing skill-wise you really have to worry about) and you don't have to memorize a battle system because it plays like a free roamer (think Zelda-ish). The story is fun, but takes a serious tone towards the end, and the characters are a real delight.

If even that one fall through you should take on the Dark Choronicle (Dark Cloud) series someone mentioned here. It's a real dungeoun crawler...and it can get tedious, but it's all worthwhile. I reccommend the first game over the second one.

So Thousand Arms, Dewprism, Dark Choronicle. Line those up and you'll be having much fun.
