There was/is nothing wrong with this particular discussion. There are no set paths that you can take your character through. it's not like the sphere grid where a certain character will appear on a certain spot on the board. If you want Balthier to use a damn sword instead of a gun go ahead. If you wanna make Vaan use a staff and be white mage, GO AHEAD. I've personally been thinking about how I want my characters to be as a party for awhile. I'm sure that the concept that I have in my head now will completely differ than the practical use of it all, but until then, it's all I have to go off of. The game was a pleasure to play even though I didn't understand a damn thing. Figuring out the liscense board on my own without being able to read anything made me feel happy and also made me realize that I CAN actually do whatever I want with the characters.

It's nice that each party member has the ability of jobs, but without knowing each of the characters battle traits, skill, etc. there's no way to tell what will work best with who. We might as well discuss FFXIII's battle system which we know nothing about. If you feel your wonderful thread has been pooped all over, get over it. I've had plenty of threads pooped on and I just let it go. uhm.. what about XI? There was a primary and sub class. Even in X you COULD make multiple class characters.
Oh and never mind that there are no SUMMONER classes. TRUE you COULD make a summoner, but as it stands only one person can each get each of the summons. I seriously doubt it would be very prudent to have one person have all of em.

Yeah no one likes XI anyway and I never had interest to grind my characters up in X to be on multiple sphere grids.
