Out of those FF8.

Suikoden is Secret of mana in america isn't it? If it is than I may have to go with that, cause that was a great series. FF8 was also a real good game.

I choose Dragon Warrior (Quest) IV. Find me a game that I like more than that one and I will pay you $100.

Grandia, it was by far the most enjoyable RPG I've played within... well, ever. :D In every respects, it's awesome. (To me, at least ;))

Bahamut ZERO's (slightly drunken) guide to all the RPGs he's ever played (TM):-

1.) Shining Force 2. The first RPG I ever played, and hence it holds a special place in my heart (damn, typing whilst drunk is trickier than it looks!!!) The storyline was fantastic, I got into the motives of the main character and played through to the end, hanging on every word. The battle scenario was sweet, and I used to hang on every move done by the hero and his companions. I was fixated by it, to put it mildly.

2.) Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX. What else can I say about these games that I haven't said already??? Basically put, VII blew the stigma of the RPG away, changing it from a minor category to one world renowned. VII made the RPG popular all over the world. VII had everyone wanting more. VIII was good, but it didn't live up to the hype created by VII, and though it sold well, people liked it less as it was less user friendly. IX went more old school Final Fantasy, with less devastating attacks and stuff. Bahamut ZERO enjoyed all three storylines, but his favourite is still VII. (Bahamut ZERO is still *trying* to play VI as we speak, so his opinion on that game shall be withheld for the moment.)

3.) Suikoden (1 and 2). Brilliant series. The characters are fantastic (Viktor rules!!!) The storyline is brilliant, and the battle system includes a nifty "auto attack" mode so that levelling up is made easier by the player simply selecting "attack" and the console doing the rest for you. I was enthralled, and had to play again and again and again until I got all of the 108 characters.

4.) Wild Arms. Apparently Sony have no plans to release the sequel in Europe (bastards), so I only have the first game to go by. The only RPG I've played where you've only had three playable characters. Levelling up is not a problem. The combat system is easy to learn, though the graphics are basic. The storyline again had me enthralled, and for good reason. I loved the characters and wanted to know what happened in more detail, especially with Jack. My heart bled for that guy.

5.) Breath of Fire III and IV. Two great games, although the combat systems are a little awkward, and the replay value isn't as great as I'd like, I played through to completion, and noted the similarities in character names and whatnot, and read the theories between the link between the games. III was an interesting experience as a mate recommended the game. IV was a recent purchase and gave me something to do over Christmas. Storylines again receive a thumbs up, as it kept me addicted to the end of the game.

6.) Grandia. What can I say??? ABSOLUTELY F**KING AMAZING STORYLINE. The gameplay itself wouldn't have kept me interested in this game. Wanting to know what happened to the characters did. I was entranced into the main character (Justin) and his quest to be the greatest adventurer that led him down a path he didn't think he could walk. I LOVED THIS STORYLINE SO MUCH I WANT TO ADOPT IT AS MY OWN!!!

7.) Alundra 1 and 2. The first Alundra rocked. I loved the cute 2D graphics and the puzzles and the unique action combat system. The second was pale in comparison. Although 3D (phft) it was naff, and I only played it through for novelty. Would highly recommend the first Alundra, would highly recommend avoiding the second one.

8.) Legend of Kartia (???) Rented it out for a week. Gave up. Bored me to death.

Well, that'll do. Out of all of those games, Final Fantasy VII is the best one I've played, simply because it is the standard that all RPGs are compared to today. Whenever a new one is released, people go "Is it as good as FF7???" It redefined the RPG, it made the genre appealing to all games players across the world. It made Square more popular than it had been. Final Fantasy VII blew us all away, and Bahamut ZERO salutes it RIGHT HERE...
