ok this was done for a PS3 as a tech demo ages ago, im not saying they are not doing one but this video has got nothing really to do with them redoing FF7, this was done by the FF13 team which is why ff13 is being done on the ps3 becasue once they realised how good the ps3 was even after starting ff13 on ps2 they couldnt go back to ps2

Yeah, im pretty sure it was just a tech demo and there not remaking, which is a pity because i enjoyed the orginal FF VII.

There have been much speculation as to whether or not they will actually remake the game. Many mags state that their sources said yes, others, maybe and other still flat out NO. HOWEVER... that video was definitely the tech demo and has nothing to prove that they will. We'll just have to wait and see. I feel that if they did remake the game, fan boys/girls across the globe will probably end up buying the system for that alone.

They made the "beautiful" tech demo to show the capabilities of the PS3; nothing more. It's been said before, and it's being said again, there will be no remake.

How many more FF7 remake threads must we really have? This shouldn't even be in the FFXII & beyond forum anyway. There are plenty of these in the FFVII forum.

For once I agree why the hell did I put this here oh yeah b/c technically it is beyond FF12 b/c it is a next-gen game versus ff12 which is current-gen (for all those who are gonna bitch at me gen is generation so don't bitch to me about it thats how they are classified)

Anyway, it does seem as though Square-enix are doing a lot of remakes lately, however they'll probably go for a more cost effective way of remaking ff7 if they eventually decide to do so.

Like making a psp verison of it, or even a ds version if the ds cards can be incresed enough to fit it all in.

PSP version of FF7 would just pwn. I would love it and buy it all the same. If they remade it for the PS3 or even the PS2 I would buy it. I hope they do for the PS3 just because I think it would look damn purty and the game in itself has alot of potential. Just like movies.. old cult classics get remade, updated and doctor'ed up all nice and spiffy. Fans eat it up. Certain fans such as MOST of those who come to FORUMS would eat it up in a heart beat. HELL.. they might even come out with some sort of collector's special limited hyperactive edition of the PS3 kinda like what they did tot eh PS2 for XII in Japan. That'd be sweet for us hard core FF fans. HELL.. they may even release it at the same time as XIII.. who knows.

there was a ps2 tech demo of final fantasy 8. What happened then eh? It means nothing until they announce a remake.

Also a more cost effective way to make money from ff7 would be to emulate the psone version on the psp, since there is going to be an emulator out soon i'd say it's the most likely option.

And dont forget the 3D techical demo of ff6 for nintendo64;)

I think i answered this in my last post, FFXIII was being made for PS2 before they made the tech demo, so it would have been pointless.
Also they do tech demo's of games everyone has seen so that you can compare between consoles, and the amazing graphical qualities they posess
