It's Barret. I don't see how people have trouble pronouncing it. Just sound it out. There's only one way to say it. Barret.

Bar-ret
Not on the french style, but the semi english dutch style :P
I always pronounced it like that.... no point of changing it now.

The second one (Ba-ray) sounds too French. It's made by Japanese ppl, and Japanese and French aren't really close

Barret is Bar-ret. Pronounced as it's spelt. Bear-it is weird and goes nothing with the spelling (and every other character is said like it's spelt too) Ba-ray is Barrette not Barret so that's not right either.

What Cloud said...It's pronounced like it is spelt...

I pronounce it ba-ray, cause it sounds kinda french to me, an' in french they most usually dont pronounce the t in a word.

Somehow Barrett doesn't look very FRENCH to me. :-p

I've always pronounced it "bear-it".

uummmm..... I've always pronounced it bear-it, i guess, some of my friends say bar-it, like a bar (pub) and one of them says it the french way, bar-ay, it's weird, i guess it just depends on who's playing the game

IM SO CLEVER!!!

everyone actually says barret the same! its just different accents.

American people say - Bear-it
English people say - Ba-ret
French people say - Ba-ray (lol)

hehe, i bet no one else even realised ^_^

perhaps this might shine some light on the subject:

i know a man named barret; his name is pronounced just like barrel (i hope we all pronounce that the same 4 heavens sake!) except there is a t in place of that l, just like Cort said.

~Cloud~

Just what Tekno said, Bar-ret.

Tidus2kFF
05-26-2002, 08:17 AM
I'm not French, but this is the most obvious spelling to me.
Bear-Ray.
Barret
just like the silent t. Or Bear-Rae. I like saying it that way alot better than Ba-Ray, or Bear-it, or Bear ret. It sounds...nicer. Bear it and Bear ret sound like ciggarette. Well, Bear-Ray is da way i say, so save dis for another day. That's my story and i'm stickin' to it.

Dr. Lucien Sanchez

Well I say it -
Ba-ret

WHO CARES HOW IT'S PRONOUNCED!?!
I certainly don't...I guess I'm the only one that doesn't...

Tayste

people still dont understand, Barrel is pronounced differently depending on your accent.. -.-

american ppl will say Bear el, english will say ba rel, its the same with Barret. Barret is pronounced differently to each accent, in reality we are all trying to say it the same just that everyone has different accents. case closed
