So everybody likes music of some sort. but who here is a musician? and what instrement(s) do you play? and what would you like to learn to play? what types of music do you perfer to play? and anything else of this nature.

I'm a guitarist/singer first, I can also play bass abit (root notes) and alittle bit of drums. I'd like to become more proficient with the drums, but the standard I want to get to will take about 10 years, and the kit I want to get will cost me a rather pretty penny. I used to play alot of indie orientated stuff, but now it's more or less death metal exclusively.

i wish i could play the drums. but i have very little rythem. i play the trumpet and guitar. so i can sorta play like roots on bass or whatever. but ive always thought itd be neet to play the violin and piano. trombone might cool to since our school band desperetly needs low brass. i tried to start a band of my own once but after like 2 get togethers and no singer it all sorta fell apart. itd be nice to try again though i think. i like just about any form of rock music.

I'm a flutist and I play viola, but I want to play snare or xlyophone. I like rock and a lot of other stuff

I played trombone and some bass.

I can play trombone, euphonium, and I mainly play tuba. I can kind of play mallet percussion, and a little piano. I can play the trumpet too, I just can't read the music. Once you learn one brass instrument (with valves, at least), you can play them all.

I really like orchestral and symphonic stuff. I hope to get a college degree in music education or composition. I really like choral stuff, too.

I play guitar, make electronic music (see my signature), and I'm working on my singing. I write lots of original music I hope to one day release in a much greater capacity than to just 4 or so people online :o

I play bassoon, bari sax, bass clarinet, and now also oboe (after only one week!). I tried to learn flute but gave up after a month or so of not being able to make a sound no matter how hard I tried. So, basically, if an instrument uses a reed I can play it.

i have just found my recorder and am launching into mastering an instrument i haven't played since i was 6 or 7

I'm playing the electric guitar and the classical guitar. I often play the piano or the drum when it's needed.

I play a lot of blues and jazz and i'm in a cover band where i play lot of music style, from classical to metal by funk, reggae, etc.

I've posted a new song on Mypsace if anyone wants to listen and yell at me about it. For some reason Myspace compresses my damn songs so the sound isn't as good as I actually made it, but I uploaded it twice with different files made in different programs and got the same result so obviously I have no other option than to just leave it. Hopefully it's good enough to listen to anyway. Comments would be appreciated, thanks.

I play lots of instruments, not of all them equally good, just enjoying experimenting :D

In the wee band I'm in, I usually play the bass guitar, but it varies alot, due to playing lots of different styles of music.

Been drumming for 14 years. I also play a bit of guitar and piano, but piano is strictly for composing. My old band was called Coat of Arms, and if you are interested : www.myspace.com/coatofarmsmusic. yeah.

I'm more of a rapper nowadays, though I'll probably try to pull out some jazzy piano riffs once I find a way to record my piano playing.

Anyways, I play piano and both electric and acoustic guitar. I'm mostly at a semi-proficient level in piano and I suck at guitar.

I plan to make rap instrumentals with live instrument recordings and my own lyrics and vocals. But then again, we all know how what we plan to do turns out different from what we end up doing.

There's been a huge gap where I haven't involved myself with playing my instruments at all but I've picked it all up again as of late! I play electric and acoustic guitar, flute, attempt to sing and play the piano fairly decently.

I play the drums, and I would like to learn to play a violin. Music really depends on my mood.

I am not a musician.
I can play the piano.
I can't read piano sheet music.
I memorised what keys to push, don't know how or when though.
I can play only about 10 songs on a piano. Ode To Joy, Jingle Bells, mary had a little lamb, etc you know, the simple ones.

if tapping and drumming is counted as music, then yeah I can do that too.

Main instrument's my jazz bass, been playing Christian, and instrumental songs. i have a semi-acoustic and a classical guitar as well, been using my bass only to serve God. Likes to slap my bass all the time. =)

I used to play the recorder when I was 6 - 7 seven years old and the violin when I was nine through a school club. Currently I sing Bass (Chorus and Solo) with an amataur dramatics group (we do musicals).

Started playing violin in high school orchestra- my musical tastes have changed a lot since playing classical back then, but violin's still my main instrument, I just play mostly on an electric and usually through effects pedals. I also play guitar, though primarily rhythm, mostly acoustic, and almost always as an accompaniment to vocals. I do simple drumming, I'm not a great drummer but I have a good enough sense of rhythm to make the simple stuff work.

Occasionally I'll pick up a bass, harmonica, or mandolin, but those are the only instruments I play with any kind of regularity.

I like the "compositions" under johnnyplutonik, they may be a bit sparse but that helps them still maintain good sound under the myspace compression.

Tip - Make sure you spell your song titles right before putting them online :o
