Why does the Square-Enix want to change the system of the game. It look like a shit RPG game now. I hate it. The stupit FFXII really disappointed.
Why don't they make like how they make FF 10,9,8,7....

I really disappointed

Sure, if you like to play rehashes of the same engine. The thing is, any gamer worth their salt would be bored with playing with the same battle engine over a span of 10 or so games. A little variety is good, stagnation is bad.

I had no idea so many people were opposed to ffVII. Not just the battles, but the characters too. Its like ffVII has gone out of fashion or something.
Well i still love it.
I wonder if theres a thread about the new Secret of Mana games coming out?

You've already played FFXII?

Is it released in U.S.A. already? Or do you live in Japan?

Or you're just going by the pictures of the battle system of FFXII in the internet? And you have never tried it?

And Kingdom Hearts II is already out in the United States and Japan and has been for some time. Not sure about availability in Australia though.

^ KHII isn't even out yet here. I think it comes out in a couple weeks.
The point is Australia has to wait ages to get games so there is no way that this person has played FFXII - The english version was only completed like last week.

And I'm looking forward to FFXII - the new battle system looks fantastic! I think it's a great idea. If you like the old battle systems you can always go back and play one of the first 10 games again.

Oh an Magneto - stay on topic.

From what I have seen of Final Fantasy XII, the battle system seems pretty neat.

What I'm worried about with this system is if I be lazy and avoid all the "random" battles then get my ass whomped repeatedly over boss battles :/
And yeah not long now till KH2!! XD

actually, if you don't want to battle too much, it's okay as long as you manage to arrange your license board well

for example, even if you are in level 30 or above, but you equip low power weapon and accesories, you'll be doomed

levelling up will not increasing your stats, but it gives you points to use it in the license board

If you've played the actual game you m ight not feel that way. Believe me the demo sucks. When you get a handle on how it actually plays it helps out alot. I was scared as to how the game was going to handle and I didn't like the change in systems. However, this change is really good and I wholeheartedly enjoy it.

and the gambit system is incredibly cool

although i didn't understand what it say, i manage to set one gambit which when someone's hp decreased to below 70%, someone will automatically cure it by using cure magic, not with potion

I don't know about the gameplay since i haven't played it yet(i have to wait until february...)
I'm curious though if the battle system will have any similarities with FFTactics...I hope not because i like to see new things.

Just as the rest of you I am excited bout the release but the thing that is bugging me most is the fact that what if like in ffx the leveling grid (sphere grid and the license board in ff12) is extremely confusing at first and not until a little more than half way through the game do you finally realize that holy shit i understand how to do it now but I skipped so many sphere slots due to the lack of lvling spheres and such that I am virtually screwed anyone agree

Gilthanos
10-05-2006, 01:36 AM
The sphere grid was very easy for me. I just didn't pass anything up. Later on down the road I ended up making Lulu get Holy and made Yuna get Ultima.

Once you use the liscense board ONCE and see that you get LP from every kill. You will realize it is extremely easy to do anything you want. Trust me.

The liscense board is so easy, I figured it out and it wasn't even in English. It was all Japanese, but seriously.. it was very easy.

Ah, I see. Yes I am also excited about the release. I can't seem to keep myself busy enough to take my mind off of it.

One thing I've always liked about FF is that every game is different. Different world, different system, different feel, yet same name. They could have very well have changed the name every time and it would have been ok. Just had the traditional S/E mascots, Moogles and Chocobos. :)

Hi Guys,

I've been playing this game for a week now (illegal pre-release english iso). I just have to say, stop talking about it and get ready to be thrilled. The game is simply amazing. I avoided all online spoilers about the game. You have to go into it without knowing what the story or system is.

At first I was like, what's with the crappy battle system, and the slowly after 4 or 5 hours of play you discover new things. The gameplay elements start falling into place and your options grow. The battle system is simply amazing.

But I'm worried that you keep talking about a game and judging it, and then you ruin the whole experience for yourself. Just play the game without any prior judgement. Trust me, you'll be in for a great surprise.

I've been counting down the days until i get ffXII. I kind of skipped over 11 because I didn't have an interest in it (is it good?). But the only spoiler I've had from 12 is the opening. And I saw a trailer when an esper was summoned that's all. I'm never disappointed with final fantasy games, okay 10-2 was a bit disappointing.

Sackboy

I got this from an issue of Play magazine I picked up the other day.

Where towns in past installments were home to a few dozen residents, FFXII's cities teem with thousands of digital souls. Where players in past games have traveled from cities to dungeons by selecting there destination from a map, FFXII fills in the gaps by providing mile apon scale mile of scorching deserts, frozen tundras and windswept plains to explore. The traditional Final Fantasy world map is gone, replaced by an actual world. That's a common trend in online games, of course, but FFXII's environments aren't the bland wastelands of FFXI; they easily match FFX for level of detail, dispite the tenfold increase in quantity. While the level of detail may match, FFX's bright, colorful palette has been replaced here with gritty earth tones, giving the environments a look that borders at times on photorealism."

I can't tell you how long I've waited for a FF game like this. However 2 things the writer failed at.

but FFXII's environments aren't the bland wastelands of FFXI

His character must hail from Bastok like mine. There's a lot of traveling to do before you see more then a square-foot of grass.

Where players in past games have traveled from cities to dungeons by selecting there destination from a map,

Last I remember, it was only FFX and X-2 that did that. But I kinda see where he/she is going with it.

Does anyone know when FFXII is coming out in England? The wait is killin' me. Just a quick note: Yuna can make out with Brother if she wants. The two are so different (Brother looks nothing like Cid, Rikku or Yuna), I'm pretty sure they are totally unrelated. As I said in another post, he was probably adopted or mistaken for a human and taken in by cid or something like that.

I am so envious of you guys in America and Australia and Japan (basically everywhere else). Things move slowly in England. Oh, KHII just came out here, but it's damned expensive. I'll just wait for FFXII as I didn't really get into KH.
