Seemingly Hideo Kojima is directing the movie. I don't know who will be acting in it or who or what the enemy will be.

Also i didn't know what forum to put it under so I just picked this one, so if it is in the wrong one I am sorry.

=\ I feel like I've heard this announced a while back somewhere. And something about who was going to play Snake too...but that might just be me remembering some other occasion and getting confused.

I like the MGS series. Therefore, I would also like if this wasn't crappy. The fact that Hideo Kojima is directing and writing it is at least somewhat encouraging, it won't be done by some incompetent Hollywood boob.

I imagine it'll be rubbish, but like Mossy says, the fact Kojima is directing it, might be its one saving grace.

I didn't see it announced anywhere, I was just spoutinging off what I thought I remembered. I remember it being someone notable though...maybe even partially lol-worthy. =\ Wish I could remember...

i have always wanted an mgs film and this has made me quite happy in pants.
i dont see how you can think it will be bad at all if its directed my kojima, considering he directed the game and the game is basically a film in cg. he directs the cut scenes so awesomely. just look at metal gear solid 3 where naked snake takes on ocelot and his goons, brilliant scene.

Directing a game and directing a movie are entirely different things. Therefore, Kojima directing it is a total gamble. All of you who are so excited to have him directing it are rather silly since he's completely unproven in that regard. I'm not saying he'd do a bad job, just that it's not guaranteed to be good either. He could even be another Uwe Boll when you give him an actual camera.

Yeah true. However his experiences with the game should help, surely. Rather then someone who had no involvment with the game. You do make a good point though.

Really the only reason we like MGS is because it's like an interactive action movie

Anyway, i`m pretty sure they`ll make a movie sometime. Although unless it`s CGI or an anime it`ll just look out of place imo.

I think that it is going to suck because all game to movie tie ins all are terrible except a couple.

Denny, the MGS movie project was confirmed a while back. That's all I ever knew though.

It does have an imdb that says Hideo Kojima is directing but those things change all the time. It's kinda stupid to say oh this will suck or oh this will be awesome because I don't think this is even in pre-production yet.

How many films based on games are actually any good? One or two exceptions(RE, Silent Hill) but they are usually rubbish.

An animé film would probably be the best option. A CGI film might be good, but alot of CGI films have turned out to be shite. A live action film, in my opinion, won't work. David Hayter not being Snake is just impossible.

I'm really impatient for the movie adaptation of Metal Gear Solid !!!

Why take the risk of ruining something that's so Godly as MGS?
But...since it's so inherently Godly, there's also a good chance that it'll be a good movie.
Meh. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

this movie will be very interesting. i hope harry gregson williams does the music. i think there's a good chance of that. ^.^
