Also, it's awesome because a lot of Sony fanboys are like IT HAS FINAL FANTASY, and the series has been spreading more and more to other companies lately.

I think they are diversifying to the various systems in order to help encourage sales of various systems a little bit. Then again, it works for some fans, and it doesn't for others. An FFXII based game wouldn't be enough for me to get a DS, but to play FFIII I wan't to get one. Go figure.

oh same here. I've been wanting a PSP FF for the longest time. I've even been wishing that they would port over FF7 over to it. I would love to see it there. The PSP has so much potential and yet .. seems that much of it is untapped. I think the PSP might crash and burn, but I truly hope not. Companies are more concerned about bringing games over as direct ports and not creating new ones. Seems hypocritical coming from me as I want a port of FF7, but I just feel that this attitude is what is killing the PSP.

-My problem with FFXIIRW being on DS is because I like the gameplay, graphics and power of the PSP a lot more. But since FFXIIRW, FFVI advance and FFIII are all on DS, I plan on getting one anyway.
-It is in fact a sequel. All 6 characters don't meet up untill FFXII. In FFXIIRW, they're all still together and you clearly see Vaan, Penelo, Fran and that other guy running together to the air ship in the trailer. The official site shows 6 shadows but only 2 are available as Vaan and Penelo. the other 4 are clearly the other 4 main characters in FFXII. You can't have a prequel with this party if they havn't met yet.

This is disgusting. If it wasn't for the fact that i've played 12 and it rocks, I'd now officially say that squenix has sold out and sucks. *grumble* I mean, come on, 10 wasn't horrible, but was lacking in the gameplay department. 10-2...let's not even go there. AC was ok, but not really worth it.(glad I DLed it) I've heard the one with vincent sucks, 13 is made by the team that did 10 and 10-2, and looks, at least from the screenshots i've seen, to be of a similar vein. This is obviously not going to be like FFXII, it's by another team for the most part. The director is working on both FFXII:RW and FFXIII. They said in a recent Dengeki interview that the game will focus on developing the characters FFXII didn't get a chance too as much as they'd like and the game will make summons useful again. While the plan on making the game easier for more people to get into, the game will still feature a full story that you can experience as you wish (in short bursts or all at once).

You guys don't seem to understand something. Looking at the market saturation, people who own a PS2 are far more likely to own a DS than a PSP, especially in Japan. Considering that, it makes perfect sense to not put on PSP since more people who own PS2s will be able to play it that way.

It is not lame for Square Enix to make a business decision that is probably going to earn them more sales of the FFXII DS game. It's only lame to you because <B>it's not on your precious PSP</B>. And you're probably thinking that the game is going to suck because 'lol the ds graphics sucks'. It's not lame to switch handhelds, its a very wise decision.

Actually, it's more to do with Square Enix's DS engine, not the DS capabilities. Now that I look at that screen shot, and compare it to the 3D games Square Enix has almost completed (Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: DS) the proportions look identical to the characters in those games.

It looks like Square Enix is finally doing the smart thing and developing middleware for a platform, and building games off that middleware. And considering how amazing the graphics in FF3DS are, that's a good thing.

What I do care about is, Squeenix is actually going to Nintendo alot more. FF games comming to the Wii and DS. Even Dragon Quest 9 will be on the DS, rather then on the PS3.

I think this is a great move of Squeenix and it'll piss alot of Sony fanboys off, since FF was kind off Sony "exclusive" since FFVII for the PSX.
