As console shooters go, I suppose it's a decent enough game, but it's still a pale imitation of a PC shooter. What bothers me most about it is how ignorant fankids will proclaim it to be the greatest thing ever without even playing other notable shooters.

Halo 1 was superb. But over everything else it was the excellent co-op mode that kept me hooked. Me and my brother would play levels on Legendary and we`d be sitting there for about 3 hours at a time. Great stuff. :)

Still, Halo 2 was shit imo. ;(

I personally think that Master Chief isn't so bad--not the greatest character ever, by any stretch, but he's adequate. Halo's supporting cast and villains make it interesting for me. The Chief and Cortana's banter is quite humorous at times, and I think the Covenant are excellent villains. Yes, cliched villains, but well-done cliche isn't that bad.

I've played a bit of Halo before, it was pretty mediocre. I'd rather play Serious Sam instead, at least the enemies and levels are creative.
