Short story: I'm going to be driving up to South Carolina on Monday on business, which should be done sometime Tuesday and I'll be driving back home on Wednesday.

It is 438 miles one way to get there, so I'm going to need some good music to listen to that won't bore me to tears or make me rip the CD out of the radio and throw it out on the highway in disgust. So recommend something that isn't pure shit!

Also, no rap or death metal or stupid pop bullshit, either.

I find Modest Mouse is good for road trips.

If you listen to The Mars Volta after like 4 songs the road trip will be over already

For roadtrips, I sometimes like to listen to The 13th Floor Elevators, "Free Bird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd, Josh Whedon's Firefly Theme Song, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young (or Crosby, Stills, and Nash; or Crosby and Nash--appearantly, they broke up a couple of times), and The Doors, and The Byrds.

And let us not forget Live! ;-)

Have a safe trip!
