I've been playing DoC for about 4 hours now.
And like many others, the game bothers me. It really gives me more reason to hate the FFVII Complimation and SE. Besides the fact that the graphics are quite poor and closely resemble too much of Kingdom Hearts, the characters are what really made me sad.

Vincent- One of the very few characters that were captured accurately.

Reeve- Yeah, he is still a bitch.
Cait Sith- Refer to title.

Yuffie- In DoC she suddenly acts like a clone of Rikku...on crack.

Cid- DoC proves that Cid is not from Rocket Town, but actually Kentucky.

Cloud- Is still wearing sunglasses.

Barret- The only line I have heard him say so far, is "Awright!."

Tifa- She is just Tifa.

Red XIII- Needs a new agent.

Cait Sith had a Scottish accent in the English version of Advent Children. To be quite frank, it's not all that surprising due to name origin.

Cid's voice had a southern accent in both Kingdom Hearts II and Advent Children. His love of cigarettes is something that has been stereotyped by many films involving southerners.

Yuffie has always been on crack.

I guess, since Advent Children and KH2 sucked so bad; the last thing I paid attention to was voice acting.

Well Barret actually said more lines, on the phone call when Tifa, Cloud and Barret were fighting the attack on Midgar. You could here him in the background, making funny re-marks lol. Years ago i never used to like Caith Sith, when i was playing FF Vii, but after hearing his accent i'm quite fond of him. The accent suits him, i cuold just picture him like that. I have a question sorry to go alittle of topic, when Nero attacked the ship Cid was in charge off (forgotten the name) did Cait Sith die? I liked FF Vii AC and i think Cloud looks very cool in those shades! I think the voices for the characters are very good, but i think it's the other way around they based Rikku on Yuffie. Hehe, that was funny though about Nanaki needing a new agent! Lmao! ~Db.

In my opinion...when it comes to the chraters of DoC, the worst done one is the full 3D version of Weiss' brother because Gackt made a horrible chatacter model, but that's another thread. Anyways, the best done character (besides Vincent because he's a rather obvious chioce) is Shelke.

You're a moron. North American voice actors have always had the highest standard in the world. Your problem is with dubbing. And guess what, Japanese dubbing has the exact same problems, so by your logic, Japan shouldn't be using any sort of voice acting either. Silly cunt.

The problem with Dubbing for Games that before hand were all Text is that it doesn't fit our Mental Voice of the Characters. We all Speak, Read and Understand things differently its Human Nature to do that. So when we as Gamers have sat for Hours Playing a Game reading Text and Have to give it a Mental Voice then to hear a Voice for the Character it doesn't feel right to us since it isn't our Mental Voice for them. ALOT of things get described through Tone, Wording, Spacing and a Variety of other things in speech that Help shape that Senetnece and we all have our own way of doing it. Voice Actors have to supress or Alter their own Speech Patterns to fit a Character and it is hard that is why some Characters will be going along great then suddenly have a Very off-kilter Line is a Problem that can't truly be fixed. And the more different a Character is from the Actor's personality the worse it gets.

As for the Voices in game I only disliked Wiess or as it is said Wice and Nero's voices. Hojo was great so was Vinnecent and Cait sith's voice fit him I felt.

And, seeing as Cait Sith is a Scottish myth, the accent, which is Scottish and NOT Irish, is quite fitting.
